Overwatch 2 is getting new support, as Niran Pruksamanee, Lifeweaver, joins the roster.

Overwatch 2’s thirty-seventh hero has been revealed, as Lifeweaver joins the fray. The hero was officially unveiled on March 3 on the official Overwatch 2 Twitter.

This reveal followed a tease of a single flower posted on the account, which many took for a clue that beloved Assault map, Hanamura, was returning to the game. But, in fact, the flower was hinting at the release of Lifeweaver.

In the reveal post, details about Lifeweaver were sparse, with more information promised “tomorrow” on March 4. But thanks to an interview from PCGamesN, we do have some additional details on the new face in Overwatch 2. According to that piece, Lifeweaver, also known as Niran Pruksamanee, is a pansexual Thai support character who uses plants, specifically flowers, as his weapon of choice.

Lifeweaver is reportedly connected to Symmetra, as they both attended the Vishkar Architect Academy. The connections go gameplay-deep, as “they’re both light architects, so they can both spawn constructs.” And as a result, both heroes will have some interesting in-game synergies.

What are Lifeweaver’s abilities?

Lifeweaver’s abilities are aimed around a flowery motif with high-healing prowess. With a dash, some passive healing, and the ability to drop a healing item on death, this is a very selfless hero. But apparently when it comes to his ultimate, a placeable Tree of Life which heals allies close to it, he can disrupt sightlines and block chokepoints. Lifeweaver also has some verticality thanks to his Petal Platform ability.

When and how can you unlock Lifeweaver?

Lifeweaver releases on April 11 alongside the Season 4 Battle Pass for Overwatch 2. The hero can effectively be bought outright with battle pass levels or unlocked gradually over the course of the season.
