Will 6v6 return permanently in Overwatch 2? Here’s what the game director had to say about it.
Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller just published the game's first director's blog of the year. In the post, he revealed that Overwatch 2 will get a mini-competitive season featuring six-versus-six (6v6) gameplay. This Overwatch 2 6v6 competitive mode will happen during the mid-point of Season 15.

Overwatch 2 6v6 competitive in Season 15
Last year, Overwatch 2 ran the 6v6 Role Queue playtest, and currently, the game is running the 6v6 Min 1, Max 3 version. The 6v6 Role Queue mode, in particular, reached about 10% of all hours played.
"For reference, our Role Queued Quick Play mode accounts for roughly 35-40% of play hours (this was lower during the 6v6 tests)," Keller explained. "There’s definitely a demand for a mode with this team size, but it’s still uncertain how large that demand is."
