Overwatch 2 team talks July 12 patch notes
According to Overwatch 2 lead gameplay designer Alec Dawson, this hotfix was made to address some outliers. "Overall, the patch has hit our goal of finding a better middle ground for tank survivability compared to pre and post Season 9," he stated on social media.
Dawson then continued, referring to the mid-season patch and noting that he's looking at the "finer elements within such a big patch and its long term effects."
"Hopefully can provide a deeper look into those effects next week as the patch matures," he wrote. "Know this patch was bold, but thank you all for the feedback throughout the last few days!"
Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller also weighed in on the update, stating that the team has been closely monitoring the patch and player feedback. "We'll continue to monitor over the weekend," he added.
