Overwatch 2 Hero Mastery mode explained
Hero Mastery in Overwatch 2 is a single-player mode that everyone can try out. It boasts in-game courses that feature obstacles, training bots, and jump pads galore. Currently, the Overwatch 2 Hero Mastery courses are available for D.Va, Reinhardt, Winston, Echo, Genji, Mei, Sojourn, Tracer, Lucio, and Mercy. However, it will soon feature Soldier: 76 and Kiriko in Season 11.

Overwatch 2 Hero Mastery mode difficulties and courses
- Recruit
- Agent (Requires a three-star rating in Recruit)
- Expert (Requires a four-star rating in Agent)
Each character has three courses with varying difficulties as well. These difficulties unlock as you progress through the courses and achieve certain star ratings.
"Each hero also comes with an exclusive Player Icon, an exclusive Name Card, and bonus Battle Pass XP, rewarded after mastering the three courses," Blizzard explained. "Keep track with the Top 500 leaderboards showcasing the highest scores in each region!"

What is Hero Mastery mode in Overwatch 2?
As mentioned, the Hero Mastery mode courses involve training bots that let you practice your shooting, dodging, and blocking. These units include Tank Bots, Rocket Bots, and Sniper Bots. While Tank Bots have high health totals and barriers, Rocket Bots deal lots of damage using projectiles. Moreover, Sniper Bots take aim from a long range.

"These training bots will be strategically placed throughout the map, so you’ll have to figure out how to deal with them as you master each course," Blizzard noted. Additionally, there are scenarios where you must protect your friendly bots from enemies.
Overwatch 2 Hero Mastery mode guide: Getting a high score
To achieve a higher score in this mode, you must collect Emblems as quickly as possible. These Emblems give you bonus points, with the bigger Emblems granting you even more points. As for the speed element of this mode, you can earn gold, silver, or bronze score multipliers after completing a course. Your time and the number of Emblems you have determine your total score and star rating.
Overwatch 2 Hero Mastery in Season 11
Between June 20 to July 9, Overwatch 2 players can complete some challenges involving Soldier: 76 and Kiriko through the Hero Mastery game mode. Rewards include lots of Season 11 Battle Pass XP and likely some in-game cosmetics.
