Here’s everything to know about Hazard’s abilities, ultimate, and overall kit in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2's new tank hero is none other than Hazard. Ahead of his Dec. 10 release date and the playtest event from Nov. 22 to Nov. 25, Blizzard dropped a trailer with hints of his kit, sparking player speculation about what he can do in the game. Then, during the Overwatch Champion Series (OWCS) World Finals at DreamHack Stockholm, the new tank's official kit was revealed! Read on for everything to know about Hazard's abilities and ultimate.

Overwatch 2 Hazard abilities

  • Jagged Wall: Launch a spiked wall that damages and knocks back nearby enemies.
  • Spike Guard: Protect yourself, firing homing spikes at nearby enemies. While active, reduce damage taken and regenerate ammo.
  • Violent Leap: Lunge forward. Activate this again to slash at enemies and knock them back.
  • Bonespur (Weapon): Fire a burst of spikes.
  • Vault (Passive): Scale short walls and grab ledges.
  • Downpour (Ultimate): Rain down a torrent of spikes, immobilizing enemies.

Overwatch 2 new tank hero abilities, passive, and more

  • 25% reduction in received knockbacks
  • 25% reduction in received critical damage
  • 40% reduction in ultimate generation

Since Hazard is a tank hero in Overwatch 2, he also has a 25% reduction in received knockbacks. The same applies to received critical damage. Meanwhile, his ultimate generation is reduced by 40%.

Previous speculations

Prior to the release of Hazard's official kit, Blizzard teased his moves in a trailer. The "Hazardous Tactics" trailer showed that Hazard's right arm is a five-barreled cannon. This arm appeared to fire purple crystals that hit multiple enemies at once.

The hero also shot purple crystals appear out of the ground to knock enemies back.

His flashiest move in the trailer involved purple crystals emerging from his back and raining down on his foes.

The hero's leaps were also reminiscent of Doomfist.
