Here’s how this new Overwatch 2 game mode works plus all of the Hacks & Hijinx modifiers.
A brand-new event has arrived in Overwatch 2. When players log in and launch the game, they can complete a bunch of challenges to earn in-game rewards. Read on for everything to know about the Overwatch 2 Hacks & Hijinx event, game mode, challenges, rewards, duration, and more!
Overwatch 2 Hacks & Hijinx event
The new Overwatch 2 Hacks & Hijinx event goes from July 15 to July 29, giving players two weeks to duke it out in the arcade game mode for some prizes. This Hacks & Hijinx game mode features two random match modifiers per round that stack. For example, in one of our rounds, we had the Fired Up and Aerial Combat modifiers. This let us deal and receive 50% more damage while in the air. Meanwhile, the Fired Up modifier gave whoever was on fire decreased cooldowns!
In terms of other Hacks & Hijinx modifiers, they include ones such as Charge Pack, Hyper Speed, Lie Low, Super Jump, and more. The Hyper Speed modifier, for example, makes everyone move 30% faster. It's a good idea to select different Overwatch 2 heroes to make the most out of the modifiers!

Below are all of the different Overwatch 2 Hacks & Hijinx match modifiers that are in rotation, courtesy of Blizzard Entertainment.
- Aerial Combat: Gravity drops, mid-air damage dealt and received spikes by 50%.
- Back in Action: Respawn time reduced for faster returns (except during overtime).
- Berserkers: No health regeneration, but for every 10% health lost, attack speed and cooldown reduction jump by 6%.
- Buff Hunt: One random hero is buffed every minute with increased health, damage, and ultimate charge speed.
- Charge Pack: Health packs also charge your ultimate.
- Damage Pack: Health packs now grant +20% damage for 10 to 20 seconds (or until death).
- Explosive: Everyone explodes on death.
- Fallen Comrade: Allies drop globes on death that boost damage, armor, and movement speed when collected.
- Fired Up: Being on fire grants you a power boost. This means more damage or healing and faster cooldowns, but you’re visible to everyone.
- Hyper Speed: Everyone moves 30% faster.
- Lie Low: Crouch to cloak. Stay invisible until you act or get too close to an enemy player.
- Mini Maxing: All heroes are 50% smaller. Health reduced by 30%.
- Motion Detection: Moving enemies within 25 meters are visible through walls. Crouch to stay hidden.
- Power Punch: Quick melee knocks enemies back.
- Super Jump: Launch 200% higher.
- Vampiric Healing: No passive health regeneration. Life steal is everyone’s lifeline.
