Overwatch 2 Freja release date
Freja is set to arrive in Overwatch 2 Season 16 on April 22, 2025. Blizzard revealed this in Freja's official gameplay trailer.
"Try out Freja during her limited-time trial today through [March] 24 before her official arrival in Season 16 on April 22," the video description also stated, referring to Freja's playtest.
This playtest goes from March 21 to March 24. However, based on our own experience with Overwatch 2 updates, we expect the Freja trial to likely extend until Tuesday, March 25 at 11 a.m. PT.

Overwatch 2 Freja kit
Below is the list of Freja's kit and Perks. She uses her Revdraw Crossbow as her primary fire. Meanwhile, Take Aim is her secondary fire. Next, her movement abilities are Quick Dash and Updraft while Bola Shot is her ultimate. In terms of her unique passive, it's Bounty Hunting. As for her Perks, they are Frost Bolts, Tracking Instinct, Ready to Hunt, and Relentless Barrage.
Overwatch 2 Freja abilities
- Revdraw Crossbow (Primary Fire) – Fires automatic bolts rapidly.
- Take Aim (Secondary Fire) – Slows Freja's momentum and allows her to aim with an explosive, high-speed bolt. Can be refreshed using Quick Dash.
- Quick Dash (Movement Ability) – Vaults Freja in the direction she's moving. Refreshes Take Aim.
- Updraft (Movement Ability) – Launches Freja upward.
- Bola Shot (Ultimate) – Fires an explosive bola that wraps around an opponent and pulls them into nearby enemies if it connects.
- Bounty Hunting (Passive) – Grants Freja bonus ultimate charge for every three final blows.
Overwatch 2 Freja Perks
- Frost Bolts (Minor Perk) – Enemies hit by three regular bolts in quick succession are slowed by 20% for a couple of seconds.
- Tracking Instinct (Minor Perk) – Critical health enemies are revealed to Freja.
- Ready to Hunt (Major Perk) – Updraft grants a temporary free use of Quick Dash.
- Relentless Barrage (Major Perk) – Direct hits with Take Aim refund four automatic bolt ammo.
