Over time, the Overwatch franchise’s contributions to life-saving breast cancer research have totaled over $25 million.
The world could always use more heroes, and Overwatch 2 and its community have answered the call with a $12.3 million donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Overwatch 2 donates $12.3 million to the BCRF
Through this year's Mercy for a Cause campaign, the Overwatch 2 community has raised $12.3 million. The 2024 campaign featured the original Pink Mercy skin plus the Rose Gold Mercy Bundle, and 100% of the proceeds went directly to the BCRF's mission.
"[...] Beginning on June 25, you can purchase the original Pink Mercy skin for the original price of $14.99 USD, with 100% of the purchase price (excluding any applicable platform fees and taxes) to be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation," Blizzard stated prior to the start of the 2024 campaign.

Over time, the franchise's contributions to life-saving breast cancer research have totaled over $25 million. In 2018, the original campaign raised $12.7 million, supporting projects focused on improving breast cancer diagnosis, risk assessment, predictive models, treatments to delay tumor formation, and more.
"This year’s campaign came close to matching the $12.7 million raised in the original 2018 Pink Mercy campaign, further cementing the Overwatch community’s impact on breast cancer research and bringing the cumulative total to over $25 million raised for life-saving breast cancer research to-date," Blizzard stated.
The post also mentioned that in the coming months, Overwatch 2 and the BCRF will share more information about the 2024 campaign's impact.
