April Fools’ Day brought some fun changes to the Overwatch 2 heroes.
Overwatch 2's April Fools' Day event is well underway. Each hero has received changes to their kit, whether that be reworks, an extra ability, or a numbers change. So, after playing Overwatch 2 during the April Fools' Day changes, we've compiled a tier list of the most fun heroes to play. The April Fools' event in Overwatch 2 is here until April 8, so be sure to capitalize on the chaos and have a great time. Additionally, and for the record, this list is entirely subjective.
Overwatch 2 April Fools' Day heroes: S-tier
- Mauga
- Torbjorn
- Brigitte
- Ramattra
- Junker Queen
The S-tier heroes are the most fun to play in the Overwatch April Fools' event. For these heroes, there's been a major change that makes the hero so much fun to play. Whether there are changes to their model, a core mechanic or even just a fun interaction. The S-tier heroes are a must-try during the April Fools' Overwatch 2 event.
Have you been wondering why you've been seeing so much Ramattra in your games? Well, it's because he's gotten quite a bit stronger in the Overwatch 2 April Fools' game mode. In the developer's words, "Ramattra wasn’t suffering enough so we’ve increased his suffering so that when he causes suffering his enemies will suffer as much as he has suffered." His ultimate has been moved to a basic ability, but it's just as strong, if not stronger. Meanwhile, his Nemesis form has shifted to his ultimate ability.
Overwatch 2 April Fools' event most fun heroes: A-tier
- Mei
- Soldier: 76
- Ashe
- Symmetra
- Bastion
- Lifeweaver
- Reinhardt
- Kiriko
- Lucio
Next up are the A-tier heroes. This group of heroes have some fun changes dedicated to them, and all for the better. Each of these heroes are fun to play during the Overwatch 2 April Fools' event. Whether they are more fun within their role or whether you can mess with your opponents and have a good time.
A notable mention within this tier is Mei. She's gotten even more slippery now with the Overwatch 2 April Fools' changes. She can now press jump while in mid air to create a pillar of ice to get out of sticky situations. The icing on top is the developer's request alongside these changes: "Definitely do not use this to get to spots on the map you’re not supposed to get to, thanks."

Overwatch 2 April Fools' mode: B-tier
- Sojourn
- Sombra
- Cassidy
- Echo
- Widowmaker
- Ana
- Doomfist
- Zenyatta
- Mercy
- Illari
The B-tier list is for heroes that are fun to play in the Overwatch 2 April Fools update, but still feel somewhat grounded in balance. In other words, they don't feel super overpowered. However, they've still been tweaked to a point where they are still pretty fun.
Both sniping queens Widowmaker and Ana have had some fun changes in the April Fools' update. Ana's sleep dart makes enemies hit by the dart float up into the air slowly as they sleep. On the other hand, Widowmaker gets three charges of her grappling hook. The extra mobility does wonders for her. Especially since critical hits with her secondary fire grants an extra grappling hook charge. The developers couldn't have said it better: "Hooks + Headshots = Parkour."
Overwatch 2 April Fools' event most fun heroes: C-tier
- Moira
- Hanzo
- Pharah
- Wrecking Ball
- Baptiste
- D.va
- Orisa
- Sigma
- Winston
The C-tier heroes are the remainder of the heroes that feel different compared to their typical play, but are still fun. Although the changes for the C-tier heroes are good and fun, they aren't anything to write home about. The C-tier heroes here typically have some damage buff to their abilities or a minor new movement technique.
A prime example is Wrecking Ball, who has been blessed by the crab gods. He gains bonus damage and movement speed for walking or shooting sideways. So it's nothing revolutionary, but it's still fun. The developer note makes up for this entirely: "We're preparing to retcon Wrecking Ball into a crab. Hope these changes are sufficiently immersive."
Overwatch 2 April Fools' mode: D-tier
- Junkrat
- Genji
- Tracer
- Roadhog
- Zarya
- Reaper
Last is the D-tier. This small group of six heroes have had the least fun changes in the Overwatch 2 April Fools update. The changes just haven't made an impact in their gameplay. They feel either worse or just that you are playing the same hero prior to the update. It's unfortunate, but not every April Fools' Day hero can be amazing.
How long is the April Fools' event in Overwatch 2?
The limited-time event lasts until April 8. Until then, be sure to jump into the chaos, test out different heroes, and have a blast.
