New Overwatch 2 comic teases Hero 45

Overwatch 2 has released a new comic featuring the long-awaited meeting between Ramattra and Zenyatta. The comic also includes what appears to be a teaser for Hero 45.

In the new Overwatch 2 comic read aloud by Ramon Tikaram, Ramattra's voice actor, one panel appears to show Hero 45. The silhouetted character has long hair, carries a giant sword, and has heels. Hero 45 is also overlooking an explosion.

For context, this panel appears as Ramattra speaks to Zenyatta about Talon. According to him, Talon's members are driven by greed, betrayal, and a lust for power. Ramattra sees this as their downfall and admits to Zenyatta that Talon's problems may become the world's problems.

This may be a hint that Hero 45 is connected to Talon or possibly working against them. At the time of publishing this article, however, Hero 45's official lore and intentions are unknown.

What we do know is that Hero 45 is likely a gladiator. According to a post by OWCavalry, Blizzard Entertainment accidentally teased the hero with some placeholder text that read, "Gladiators Gonna Gladiate." Meanwhile, Overwatch 2's game director, Aaron Keller, hinted at Hero 45 as a potential melee hero during a Twitch stream with FroggerOW.

As for other hints about Hero 45, a Stadium playtest back in April showed the hero's silhouette on a banner with the Roman numerals "XLV." Another screenshot featured Hero 45's sword with the same numerals on a plaque.

Even prior to that, following the Overwatch 2 Spotlight stream in February, Reddit user P3runaama shared screenshots of a doodle plus a statue labeled "Magnus."
