Dorado has officially been disabled in Overwatch 2, but why? And when will the map be back up?

The popular map, Dorado, has officially been disabled as of yesterday (July 10, 2024) in Overwatch 2. The map goes hand-in-hand with the upcoming Hero, Space Ranger, leaving many to wonder just when the map will be back up.

Here is everything we know about Dorado being disabled in Overwatch 2, and when the map will be back up.

Dorado has been disabled in Overwatch 2

Blizzard announced via their website earlier today that Dorado had officially been disabled in Overwatch 2.

"We want to keep you up to date on some of the bugs and issues we’re aware of that are affecting the game," said Kaedi, an Overwatch 2 Community Manager. "Dorado has been disabled as we investigate issues with crashing. Note, this is not necessarily due to a certain spacecraft literally crashing into the map."

Kaedi had to be sure to mention the Space Ranger's arrival had nothing to do with the map being disabled. It is simply just because of a bug. The character's space pod had recently crashed onto the map, which led many to believe at first it was just an in-game event.

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience, and we appreciate y’all’s understanding. Our team is working to resolve these issues, and we will provide more information as soon as we have updates!"

So, when will the map be back up?

When will Dorado be back in Overwatch 2?

Unfortunately, there has been no hint as to when the map will actually be back up. The only detail we know is that Blizzard is actively working on fixing the bug that was found within Dorado.

Hopefully, though, this bug does not push back the release of Space Ranger, as many fans are anxiously awaiting her arrival to the game in Season 12.

Luckily, all the other maps in Overwatch 2 are currently working just fine, meaning no one has to stop playing the game due to this one bug.
