Bastion and Torbjorn have had their bugs resolved and will finally see their triumphant return to Overwatch 2.

Bastion and Torbjorn have been absent from Overwatch 2 since October 10, 2022. This was shortly after the sequel launched. While Torbjorn remained available in Quick Play modes, Bastion was completely removed from the game. Plenty of fans missed Torbjorn in ranked, but the true tragedy fell upon the Bastion mains. Players can forget their sorrows and rejoice now, however. Both characters are scheduled to return on October 25, 2022.

When are Bastion and Torbjorn returning to Overwatch 2?

Jon Spector broke the news on his Twitter account. He is the commercial leader for Overwatch and a vice president at Blizzard. His tweet plain and simply stated that Bastion and Torbjorn will be coming back to Overwatch 2 on October 25.

The news broke alongside an announcement that the Junkertown map is being disabled. The official update from Blizzard says that Junkertown has been causing graphic performances issues. The map has been removed from all queues until the same date of Bastion and Torbjorn's return.

Blizzard has solved many of the issues that plagued Overwatch 2 at launch and have begun to focus on the gameplay, performance and graphical areas that need work. The game may truly feel complete now with Bastion and Torbjorn back in action.

Why were they removed in the first place?

If you are one to play Overwatch 2 and noticed the heroes missing, you're probably wondering why. Torbjorn's bug wasn't as harmful as Bastion's, but it still warranted his removal from competitive queues. Players were able to nearly infinitely use his Overload ability. This gained him an armor buff as well as an overall speed boost.

Bastion's was much more devastating. It saw his removal from all game play modes. Players were able to spam his Ultimate ability endlessly. His Ultimate is an airstrike of sorts, so you could see why a constant barrage of attacks would pose an issue in Overwatch 2. Thankfully, it appears they've been fixed and users will be able to lock them in as their hero pick on October 25.
