No Overwatch 2 at Xbox Games Showcase 2024
On June 9, 2024, the Xbox Games Showcase event went live and featured a bunch of games, creators, and partners. While Blizzard revealed the release dates of World of Warcraft: The War Within plus Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion, Overwatch 2 wasn't mentioned. This disappointed some Overwatch 2 fans.
For example, the OWCavalry account on social media posted an image to express their disappointment. The image, inspired by the "Man" meme, features Orisa, who is sometimes referred to as "the horse" by some players.

Other accounts expressed their thoughts as well. In replies to Overwatch 2 executive producer Jared Neuss, a couple of users asked about the upcoming season. JonathanGo7051, for example, expressed concern.
"Jared why wasn’t OW2 featured in the Xbox Showcase yesterday? With S11 releasing in 10 days it was a great opportunity for the trailer to be showed," SkaVorah also wrote. "Why wasn’t the Peru map still revealed? Why are there no blog posts for a long time? Can we please have some kind of update?"
