“I personally believe you should keep making videos quickly and always look to improve one thing in every video. This makes you learn more and fail quicker than someone who puts all their time into one video.”
While always dreaming of finding a way to make content creating a career, Hew Moran never expected his brand to scale across millions of viewers. With YouTube now being his full-time job, the Fortnite content creator has gained over 1 million subscribers in just under two months.
Here is his story.
Comedy always played a part in Hew Moran's YouTube career, but gaming was not always a part of the picture
After starting YouTube in 2019, Moran had no idea where his career was headed. He always had a knack for making others laugh. Having content mimick that only seemed right.
"I started out making comedy skits, but I never thought it would get this big", expressed Moran. "I always wanted to do content creating full-time, but I never imagined it on this scale."
Moran's infatuation with the world of comedy started him down a path of always looking for the next best joke, something to make him stand out.
"When I first started, my skits were more general comedy skits", said Moran. "But then I started to mix gaming into my skits, and people really enjoyed that. I then decided to make it my niche."
While combining comedy and gaming, Moran had figured out a formula that worked. His satirical play at the popular battle royale "Fortnite" quickly rose his channel to heights he never imagined.
This was just the beginning though. Towards the end of 2022, Moran had accumulated over 500,000 subscribers on YouTube, a feat very few ever achieve.
But to him, this was not enough.
