Faker has claimed his third Athlete of the Year title at The Game Awards.
It was a clean sweep for Riot Games and League of Legends (LoL) at this year's The Game Awards, with LoL or LoL-adjacent players and teams taking home all three trophies.
Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok took home Esports Athlete of the Year while T1's Worlds win netted them Team of the Year. LoL itself claimed Esports Game of the Year, marking six straight years that the award was won by a Riot Games product.

The Game Awards kicked off on Dec. 12 with big game releases, live performances from Twenty One Pilots and Snoop Dogg, and all the winners including Game of the Year receiving their award statuettes in front of a massive audience at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The esports segment, however, didn't make the main show with all three awards hastily sped through in the preshow presentation. The three awards saw top nominees across each category, but it was LoL that took home the chocolates across the board.
LoL's win of Esports Game of the Year is the first for the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) in the category since 2021. This year it beat out CS2, Dota 2, VALORANT, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in the category. The win is the sixth consecutive one for Riot Games, who have dominated the category since the TGA's were founded in 2014.
Faker's Athlete of the Year award is his third, with the legendary T1 mid-laner earning the prize for his performance across the year in the LCK and his team's win at Worlds. It caps off an all but perfect year for the 28-year-old, who was also inducted into LoL's Hall of Fame.
It's not the only award he's going home with, either. T1 also won for Esports Team of the Year, again thanks to their run to the Summoner's Cup back in November.
