October 31 Patch Notes: NIKKE 2nd Anniversary Update is fire

Commanders will be delighted to know that Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is celebrating its 2nd Anniversary and it will receive a massive update on October 31 to mark the occasion.

The October 31 Update will introduce three new NIKKEs, one of which will be completely free as well as a new Story Event, new Mini-Games and New Skins.

The 2nd Anniversary update definitely looks enticing, and that says a lot given we just had a NIKKE x Evangelion collab event plus the Red Hood: Nonsense Red costume. The 2nd Anniversary update will drop on Halloween, October 31. It will include a massive selection of rewards, with a total of 200 draws throughout the 2nd Anniversary Event.

The 2nd Anniversary NIKKE Selection Box will give you a choice between Rapunzel: Pure Grace or Snow White: Innocent Days. There's also a selection of new artwork that would make the perfect NIKKE Wallpaper.

The Story Event for the 2nd Anniversary is called Tales of Old, introducing the second-generation Grimms models, which were briefly mentioned during the Red Ash Event in November 2023.

"Like the Goddess Squad, these NIKKEs were created a long time ago, but they are designed to have high specs, that surpass the original Grimms models," said developers Shift Up during their 2nd Anniversary livestream.

"While the Goddess Squad emphasized tragic and heroic storylines, the second generation will focus more on human traits."

A new Squad called Old Tales will be introduced via the Story Event. Old Tales has five members, one of which is Cinderella, who is the poster girl of the 2nd Anniversary Update.

Old Tales also includes what looks like identical twins, Hansel and Gretel, whose outfits are so revealing Shift Up had to add a flare in the promo art. Of the five members of Old Tales, only Cinderella will be available for Recruitment in this update.

The 2nd Anniversary Update introduces three new SSR NIKKEs; Cinderella, Grave and Rapunzel: Pure Grace.

Here is the release schedule for the 2nd NIKKE Anniversary update. Rapunzel: Pure Grace can be pulled for free via the 2nd Anniversary NIKKE selection Box that will be gifted to all players.

Cinderella, otherwise known as Anachiro, is a Burst Skill III Rocket Launcher NIKKE. Her Burst Skill revolves around the glass slippers she wears, which we see glimpse of in the trailer for the Story Event trailer.

Cinderella uses Glass Slippers as her decoy to gain buffs and strengthen herself. Her Burst Skill (Glass Slippers. Full Contact) allows her to use buffs obtained from her Glass Slippers to deal significant damage to enemies.

Grave is a Burst Skill II Supporter NIKKE who buffs her own Pierce attacks as well as those of her fellow NIKKEs on the battlefield. While in Burst Skill, Grave launches powerful Pierce attacks while strengthening her allies. She also applies a buff when her Burst Skill Ends.

Grave will be available for Recruitment from November 7, a week after the launch of the 2nd Anniversary NIKKE Update on October 31.

Rapunzel: Pure Grace is a Defender NIKKE whose Burst Skill (Garden of Utopia) generates a fortified shield for her allies. When maintaining Full Charge Status, she restores the shield and enhances her allies' attack power.

Rapunzel: Pure Grace will be a free NIKKE available as part of the 2nd Anniversary Update dropping on October 31.

Outside of three new NIKKEs, there are also four new outfits which are incredibly high standard and likely to burn a whole in any fan's wallet. All of the costumes are anniversary dinner party dresses, similar to those released for the 1 Year and 1.5 Year Anniversaries from 2023.

The Costume Gacha has quite an infamous reputation given the spend required to get the rewards, but for the 2nd Anniversary Costumes it might just be worth it.

The October 31 NIKKE update will also introduce a brand new Boss called Behemoth. Behemoth is the first boss to be created entirely using 3D.

"Unlike Indivilia, who was flashy and boasted about her skills before disappearing, we focused on making each of Behemoth's skills powerful to recapture that initial spirit," said Shift Up during their livestream. The devs also hinted that Behemoth drew inspiration from Blazing Bull in Seiko: Shadow Die Twice in terms of intensity and challenge.

The 2nd Anniversary of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE looks set to be even better than last year's, especially with all those free draws. Shift Up have delivered.
