Neverness to Everness brings you into an open world where humans coexist with supernatural elements called Anomalies. Based in a bustling city called Hethereau, the game features your typical city life with plenty of pedestrians and cars as transportation. But it is also infested with Anomalies - supernatural elements that can be an entity, object, and even a place that “defy common sense”.

You might stumble upon floating furnitures, flying books, and moving vending machines. These are the average daily Anomalies that you’ll see. But there exist more intimidating and powerful Anomalies that can be harmful to humans.

Throughout history, Anomalies have integrated so much into the world that some humans have adapted to have supernatural abilities. Espers, as they are called, have supernatural powers - some awakened at birth meanwhile some developed later in life. Espers have supernatural characteristics and physiques - for example, having animal ears, demon horns, or unusual skin colors. Though not confirmed, it is likely Espers will be our playable characters.

Hotta Studios shared a peek into the gameplay of Neverness to Everness in the official gameplay trailer. According to the gameplay shown, the game consists of a 4-member party system. You can engage in combat with two main skills, but there may be more that aren’t visible in the videos. The gameplay trailer revealed that Neverness to Everness will feature a housing system, where players will have their own residence. According to the developers, Neverness to Everness will feature very little interruption and loading screens when exploring the open world. This means ceaseless gameplay even when entering a new building or location. However, Hotta Studios opened up about the difficulty of maintaining minimal interruptions as certain "story-driven gameplay segments" will require loading screens.

Developers also revealed that NTE will have skippable stories. It can often be time-consuming to thread along the story a step at a time. It seems like Hotta Studios wants to promise more combat, and lesser reading as it confirmed skippable stories!

Is it worth the hype?

Now that we've dived a little deeper into the world of NTE - one more question remains. Is this game actually worth the hype and should you anticipate this upcoming MMORPG?

From the gameplay teased by the developers, Neverness to Everness looks very promising. It has a fresh supernatural concept, attractive game features, and unique gameplay. But - yes of course, there's a but - a lot of people are still skeptical as NTE is developed by Hotta Studios.

Hotta Studio is a studio owned by Perfect World which had launched the notorious Tower of Fantasy game in 2021. The game launch was badly received by players as many complained about bugs, gameplay design, and mainly server issues. With a history of messy game development, it's not surprising to see players hesitate on Hotta Studio's next title.
