The developers of MK1 treat the community to a Kombat Kast stream and some details on the new DLC character, Conan the Barbarian.

The release date of MK1 Conan is approaching, so players are eager to know more about the Barbarian — and especially about his gameplay features. This opportunity occurred on Jan. 16, when NetherRealm Studios revealed the first trailer for the character.

MK1 Conan gameplay trailer

The MK1 Conan trailer is here. It shows the usage of Conan's sword in bloody battles of Mortal Kombat 1. The character has a variety of mid-range attacks that can be linked into a stream of pokes and slashes. The air play doesn't look too prominent, but Conan still has something in his arsenal.

The trailer was part of a Kombat Kast broadcast program. It’s the first such stream in 2025.

The MK1 Conan Kombat Kast was streamed on the official Mortal Kombat YouTube. You can watch it below.

The future of Mortal Kombat 1

Some disturbing rumors have been whirling around the fighting games community (FGC) for quite a while. People are talking about the cancellation of the next DLC set, MK1 Kombat Pack 3

While this info wasn’t confirmed or refuted, the start of 2025 is pretty promising for MK1 players. The official trailer revealed 10 events being part of the Pro Kompetition Season 2.

It is great to see that Mortal Kombat 1 made it to the main Evo 2025 lineup. At least the esports future feels healthy for the game.

Conan the Barbarian is out right before the Frosty Faustings XVII, which is from Jan. 23 to Jan. 26. It is unlikely the character is eligible there. However, we can expect to see MK1 Conan at many other tournaments. The first Pro Kompetition tournament is from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23.
