Ghostface arrives in MK1 on Nov. 19!
The wait is almost over for those eager to play as Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1). Following the launch of Khaos Reigns, many have had their eye on the slasher from the Scream franchise to make his in-game debut. NetherRealm Studios (NRS) officially dropped a teaser today, announcing a release date for Ghostface in MK1 alongside the selectable masks. Here's everything we learned in the Ghostface teaser!
Ghostface lands in MK1 on November 19
Before we discuss the various Ghostface masks shown in the MK1 teaser, we have to start with the release date. Ghostface will be available for early access in Mortal Kombat 1 on Nov. 19. A wide release will follow likely on Nov. 26. That means anyone who owns the Khaos Reigns Expansion, Bundle, or Collection will receive Ghostface via Kombat Pack 2 one week early.

The trailer paid incredible homage to the Scream franchise, posing the classic "Do you like scary movies?" question. Additionally, NRS was generous enough to provide a look at potentially every Ghostface mask in MK1. Notables include the devil mask from Dead by Daylight, the aged mask shown in Scream 6, the 25-anniversary Chrome mask, the bleeding mask, and the scarecrow mask.
Others we noticed include a Ghostface/Scorpion hybrid, a Terminator-inspired mask, and a Tarkatan mask. Although the lack of a Scary Movie mask in the trailer was somewhat disappointing, it's still possible we could see one down the line. Regardless, the teaser confirmed that Ghostface's gear in MK1 will be the mask, as many expected, and it offers variety to all future mains of this character.
Over the next few weeks, a proper trailer and Kombat Kast for Ghostface should be available. These will give fans a good idea of how the character will feel and play in MK1.
