The next playable character comes first. A new Kameo Fighter joins the game a bit later.
NetherRealm Studios confirmed the soon-coming addition of two more personalities to their popular fighting game Mortal Kombat 1. The developers have shown a gameplay trailer for Ermac, which will be part of the main roster. Mavado will bring his assist attacks to the bloody battles.
Ermac in MK1: Release date
The new MK1 DLC character will be available:
- on April 16, if you have Premium Kombat Pack (Early Access);
- on April 23, full release.
Mortal Kombat 1 Ermac: Gameplay
The developers have released a proper gameplay trailer to show us the fighting potential of MK1 Ermac. Let’s take a look!
Ermac uses magic energy for telekinesis, to shoot projectiles, and even to release separate spirits — for example, to hold opponents for a Kameo assistant to hit them. Ermac’s magic seems to work the best in mid-range fights. Still, this Mortal Kombat 1 character has a good set of close-range attacks.
It should be fun to play Ermac. His Fatality cuts an opponent in pieces, leaving only a head on a pile of… the rest.
Mavado in MK1: Release date
He is a Kameo Fighter, an assistant to your main character. Traditionally, Mortal Kombat releases a pair of a new character + a kameo, but they will be available on different dates. Mavado comes slightly later.
The official date is still unknown. The developers say Mavado will join MK1 somewhere in May 2024.
Mavado will bring a few assists to the game. They are shown in the trailer, including his Fatality Assist. If you take him as an active Kameo, you will be able to activate different assists with directional inputs.
Who is Ermac in Mortal Kombat?
This character debuted in the game Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Then, he was present in quite a few installments, including MK9, MKX, and MK11.
Ermac is a ninja and a fusion of souls, created by the dark magic of Quan Chi. He addresses himself in the plural, like “We are many”.
In Mortal Kombat 1, Ermac is present in the story mode as a minor antagonist. The developers made a redesign for the release of the DLC character (in comparison to earlier reveals), and top esports professionals praise it.
Who is Mavado in MK?
As a playable character, Mavado was introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. He was absent from the most recent MK games.
Mavado is part of the criminal organization Red Dragon. Their goal is to destroy the rivals, Black Dragon. As a fighter, Mavado is very methodical, he trains a lot and approaches his battles thoughtfully. Mavado uses signature hooks to grab and damage opponents.
