The best new brawlers added to Brawl Stars in 2025: Ranked

With Pierce joining the game in late December, the game received 12 new characters in 2025. Some of them are just better in terms of looks and competitiveness.

There certainly aren't universally the best brawlers. Your pick depends on the game mode and your favorite playstyle. Still, Brawl Stars hits the spot perfectly with some of its new characters: the hype and excitement are over the top.

Here, we rank new brawlers added to Brawl Stars in 2025. The list can give you ideas on who to unlock first and take to your fun matches often.

1. Kaze: Two kits, Japanese vibes

The release of Kaze happened around the Battle for Katana Kingdom season. We got Japan-inspired adventures back then, including battles with mighty Kaijus — they remain in the game with Brawl Arena, the MOBA mode.

Kaze was a great part of those Japanese vibes! Also, she brought something totally new to the game.

With the Geisha and Ninja kits, Kaze is actually two brawlers in one. Her Geisha Super, Fan Storm, is terrifying: you see nothing outside.

Kaze is the first-ever Ultra-Legendary brawler, and the Brawl Stars developers really went above and beyond to make this 2025 newcomer worth 5,500 Credits. Two battle styles allow you to choose how you wish to assassinate your opponents.

2. Gigi: Horror with the teleportation ability

The cursed puppet Gigi joined Brawl Stars around the Halloween season, with Stranger Things crawling into your mobile battles. The brawler herself is full of horror: she is a scary doll, and her abilities are nightmarish for opponents

If you like terrifying creatures from Five Nights at Freddy’s, you may enjoy Gigi. Meeting her in a dark room? Please, no!

What makes playing against Gigi an awful experience is her teleportation Super, Shadow Puppet. You mind your own business on a Brawl Stars map, plan your brilliant offense, and then this puppet appears from nowhere, deals awful damage, and teleports back to safety.

Gigi’s Gadget 2, Disappearing Act, is another take on Kaze’s Super: forcing your opponents into a parallel dimension, cutting from everything else on the map.

3. Meeple: You’re trapped!

It’s a weird creature, as Meeple combines accessories from tabletop games in their body. This design may not be for everyone, but the character is capable of impressive miracles on the battlefield.

Meeple’s Gadget 1 creates a prison for opponents, blocking their way out and making them vulnerable to all sorts of shots. Combine that with the projectiles-heavy kit of Meeple and their ability to boost such attacks of their teammates — it can be frustrating to deal with.

With well-coordinated team actions, Meeple is extremely powerful! They were the first brawler added to Brawl Stars in 2025.

4. Lumi: Hits with morning stars and fire

A metalhead girl who plays on drums with her morning stars weapons? Lumi adds an absolutely great, explosive personality to Brawl Stars!

Her attacks are very effective, even if they are somewhat tricky to use. When you can aim those returning projectiles properly, you are very likely to win duels. Add here the fire effect from Lumi’s Star Power and Gadget!

Lumi would be one of the top beloved brawlers in Brawl Stars in 2025 even on her own. In addition to that, she got an amazing skin during the Stranger Things season: Eleven. This collaboration was perfect, and having Eleven in Brawl Pass was a nice treat.

5. Alli: Sneaky movement in the wilderness

The abilities to move through water obstacles and gain an advantage in bushes are always appreciated in Brawl Stars. Alli features both!

The girl has some weird connections to alligators, and Alli takes some of her powers from those creatures.

She is not as straightforward as other brawlers, as you need to be very aware of the map structures and actions of your opponents. With some stealth skills, Alli can be super dangerous.

6. Jay-Yong: Speed, healing, and… karaoke?

This guy is not among your typical brawlers, but the addition of Jay-Yong to Brawl Stars was still welcome in the community, including pro players. He is an office worker who enjoys karaoke. This doesn't sound as exciting as the stories of many magic creatures in the roster.

The strength of Jay-Yong comes from his versatile support abilities. Similar to Kaze, he has two modes: work and party. The first one increases the movement speed for Jay-Yong's teammates, and the second heals them.

The karaoke fan is more effective in thought-out teams. Jay-Yong was often picked in the playoff matches at Brawl Stars World Finals 2025.

7. Trunk: Stay away from that tree!

It's one of the craziest brawlers in Brawl Stars: from 2025 and beyond. That tree is actually a clever mechanism developed by ants to unleash their revenge on humans.

Trunk is somewhat heavy in terms of movements, which stops them from shooting higher on our list. Still, when those ants bring this killing machine close to their victims, the character starts dealing serious damage.

Playing Trunk is somewhat tricky, as you need to set the ground to boost their abilities: by literally spreading ants on the map.

8. Mina: The power of wind and Capoeira

This girl is so incredibly cool! The brawler is based on a real-world skateboarder, Ryassa Leal. Her example is pretty inspiring: you can make your dreams come true.

In the game, Mina is rather complicated. You need to tap attack within a time limit to unleash damaging wind combos. Skills with positioning are needed for this.

The animations and the ideas are still awesome! You have a Capoeira dancer on a skateboard, who is basically an airbender.

9. Finx: Coming from the magical dimension of ancient gods

He is not just a kid with a cardboard mask on his head. Finx has the powers of Anubis, a god from Ancient Egypt: they probably come from that magic staff in the character's hands.

Finx is one of the top brawlers with his amazingly fun look. Cross-players at the World Finals proved how cool this style is in the real world: it's still on the positively hilarious side.

As for Brawl Stars matches, Finx is somewhat too complicated. His projectiles are easy to land, but the time-manipulating Super requires great positioning, deep knowledge of the game's roster, and great coordination with teammates.

10. Ollie: Hypnotizing music

The boy really likes music, and he lets everyone around vibe with him. It’s unclear if other brawlers appreciate this 2025 newcomer to Brawl Stars: they are hypnotized by the music or just stunned.

Ollie is a cool-looking kid: even without his skin as Jake from Subway Surfers. His battling moves are also alright: especially opportunities to damage stunned opponents. Still, Ollie is losing to the wow effects and big advantages of other new characters. Unless you also love old-school hip-hop and hoverboards.

11. Pierce: Long-reaching shoots with complicated reload

There is something disturbing about his story: Pierce is a lifeguard who shoots anyone he deems responsible for contaminating the pool.

The character is a cool-looking dude with a fantastic water gun. Pierce is an excellent sniper, as his shots reach really far.

On the other hand, it’s easier to dodge shots from afar. Also, Pierce has a complicated reloading reload when new ammo comes after using the last water bullet. Picking shells from the floor can be advantageous, but this feature doesn’t make the Pierce simpler.

It’s the last one in the set of new brawlers of 2025. In fact, Pierce joins Brawl Stars in late December. He may prove to be a better character after leaving the character-unlocking event and joining the normal matchups.

12. Ziggy: Lightning magic

You need to be a fan of his specific style to see Ziggy as a better-looking brawler than the other characters on our list. He resembles some rock singers from the ‘70s who suddenly got a magic lightning staff.

Ziggy deals area damage: his target circle is not too big, and the delay lets opponents escape easily. His Super is massive and highly damaging, though. With good skills and team coordination, Ziggy can still be a good pick.

Brawl Stars keeps adding new brawlers each month, and 2026 starts with a Mythic Support, Glowbert.

It will be interesting to see if the 2025 newcomers can make it to the big stage of the esports World Championship next. Stuck around on esports.gg for Brawl Stars news and updates.
