Can Blacklist defend their throne or a new champion will be crowned?

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League (MPL PH) is returning to the Philippines for its 11th season. The franchised league will see eight teams competing for the title of champions and a share of the $150,000 prize pool.

The MPL PH is one of two franchised MLBB esports leagues, the other being in Indonesia. It was launched back in 2017 and adopted a franchised model in 2019 with eight teams. Besides the prize pool, the teams will also be fighting for slots in the MLBB SEA Cup (MSC) 2022 in the MPL PH Season 11.

The entire event will be played offline. The venue for the regular season is the Shooting Gallery Studios in Manali. It will be open to a live audience and the tickets will go up for sale soon. The venue for the Playoffs hasn’t been revealed yet, though.

Here is everything you need to know about the MPL PH Season 11.

MPL PH Season 11: Format and schedule

The MPL PH will feature a similar format to past seasons. The teams will compete across a regular season and the playoffs to determine the champions.

The Regular season will run across eight weeks from Feb. 17 to April 16. The matches will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The teams will compete in a double round-robin format in the regular season, meaning each team will face every other team twice.

All matches will be a best-of-three series. The teams will win different points based on how big their victory is in the series.

  • Win 2-0: Three points
  • Win 2-1: Two points
  • Lose 1-2: One point
  • Lose 0-2: Zero points

MOONTON hasn’t revealed the details for the MPL PH Season 11 Playoffs format. However, the top six teams from the group stage are likely to advance. They will compete in a double-elimination bracket to determine the winner.

Who are the eight teams in the league?

The teams are currently busy finalizing their rosters in the off-season before the MPL PH Season 11 officially kicks off. The eight teams are as follows:

  • Blacklist International
  • Bren Esports
  • ECHO
  • Nexplay EVOS
  • Omega Esports
  • ONIC Philippines
  • RSG Slate PH

An exciting year for MLBB esports in the Philippines

The Philippines is one of the strongest regions for MLBB esports. Its dominance is seen in the M World Championships. The past three editions of the tournament have been won by Filipino teams.

What makes 2023 more exciting is that the M World Championship will be held in the Philippines for the first time. The top teams from over the globe will be flying down to the Southeast Asian country to fight for the title of world champions.

For Filipino teams, this will be the chance to defend their title in front of their home crowd.
