It’s time to crown a champion. But who will it be?

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) SEA Cup (MSC) 2023 is set to happen from June 10 to 18. As the tournament kicks off, here are the four teams you need to be looking out for in the tournament.

The MLBB SEA Cup is happening across a group stage (June 10 to 13) and the Playoffs (June 15 to 18). This year, the mid-season tournament has been changed into a global one and is featuring teams from North America, MENA, and Turkey in addition to SEA. Twelve teams are competing for the title of champions and a share of the $300,000 prize pool.

ECHO has been the surprise of 2023. The team belongs to arguably the strongest region of MLBB esports, the Philippines, but has never been a vital threat. That was until late 2022 when it impressed everyone with a second-place finish in the MPL Philippines Season 10.

They wrapped up the season in style as well, by winning the M4 World Champions against home rivals Blacklist in early 2023.

Now, after winning the MPL Philippines Season 11, they have stormed into the MLBB MSC 2023 as one of the favorites to take home the trophy.

Blacklist International, on the other hand, have a point to prove. The M3 world champions have lost their crown as the best in the world to home team ECHO over the past year.

After placing second in the M4 World Champion in a devastating 4-0 loss to ECHO, they again found themselves in the same fate during the recent MPL Philippines Season 11 finals.

The team is undoubtedly looking to prove itself again. And, with the MLBB MSC 2023 becoming a global tournament, they have the perfect stage for it.

Indonesia has been denied an international trophy for a long time now. The country has fallen in multiple finals, mostly to rival region, the Philippines.

ONIC Esports will be going into the tournament with one intention, and that is to end this drought for SEA’s largest country.

ONIC has the ingredients for it. Heading into the MLBB MSC 2023, the team has been in form. They have won the previous two seasons of the MPL Indonesia and also won the MPL Invitational 2022. At the M4 World Championship, the team placed fourth.

Will the team live up to its region's expectations? Only time will tell.

Outplay: the NA underdogs are here to prove a point

Outplay is the sole North American representative at the MLBB MSC 2023. The roster is a newly formed one but consists of veterans including Hoon, Basic, and SHARK.

Basic has been a veteran in the scene and even competed in the MPL Philippines in 2020 before making his way back to NA. SHARK, on the other hand, was a part of the BTK roster which shocked the world with an impressive third-place finish at the M3 World Championship.

At the MLBB MSC 2023, the team faces an uphill task against top regions of the world. Going up against developed regions with long franchised leagues is a hard task. But, if history has taught us one thing, it’s to not underestimate the region.
