Here’s everything to know about the MLBB Hunter x Hunter collaboration.

Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Hisoka know a lot about fighting. Each of them brings unique energy to the matches in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Each of them has a great skin to replace the appearance of the existing heroes and hunt for your opponents in style.

The collaboration event, MLBB Hunter x Hunter, starts on Jan. 4. All of the details are here.

Four Hunter x Hunter characters in Mobile Legends

If you've watched the Hunter x Hunter anime, you definitely know these guys. If you haven’t, treat yourself to this experience! And before you do, read on for our introduction to the Hunter x Hunter characters in MLBB.

  • Gon

He is the main protagonist of the series. He leaves home to search for his father, a mysterious hunter. Gon takes an exam to get his hunter license — and he makes good friends in the process. Through difficulties and great challenges, Gon unleashes his amazing powers, which should be handy in MLBB!

  • Killua

He is Gon’s best friend. Killua comes from a famous assassin clan, but he abandons his roots and reveals unexpected sides of his personality thanks to meeting Gon. The anime shows him as a master fighter. Sometimes, Killua is even merciless, so his MLBB opponents should beware.

  • Kurapika

His entire clan was eliminated by an evil gang. Kurapika seeks revenge, and he gains the power to face those mighty opponents. After discovering the miracles of controlling energy, Kurapika learns to materialize battle chains and uses them in fights.

  • Hisoka

The main motivation for this guy is to face a really strong opponent and… kill them. Hisoka is immensely dangerous, but he is not interested in easy wins. He lets Gon become stronger to feel the excitement of a real battle. If Hisoka is aimed at killing, only a miracle can save the victim.

MLBB heroes with Hunter x Hunter skins

The Hunter x Hunter characters join the game MLBB as skins for existing heroes.

  • Dyrroth — Gon
  • Harith — Killua
  • Julian — Kurapika
  • Cecilion — Hisoka

It’s interesting to explore the real features of these MLBB heroes, as the Hunter x Hunter skins only bring a new look and animation.

Dyrroth

He is pretty straightforward. Dyrroth is arguably the easiest to play among the MLBB Hunter x Hunter basic heroes.

Take him to the EXP Lane: Dyrroth is the most effective here. He also can be played as a Jungler.

The moveset of Dyrroth is based on his Fighter Charge/Burst specialty. All of the skills are aimed at dealing big damage.

Harith

This hero is quite complex. Harith has no super damaging ultimate attack, as he focuses on slowing opponents down around a big active area. His second skill is just a dash, with no damage dealt, but it buffs the first skills — players need to combine these abilities to be effective with Harith.

The basic MLBB hero for Hunter x Hunter Killua is a Mid-laner. Haroth is a Mage with Chase/Damage specialty.

Harith is commonly considered a broken character. He was banned in many games of the low-bracket semi and final at the MLBB M6 World Championship.

Julian

The key feature of Julian in MLBB is the ability to buff his skills. Activate two different abilities in a short period, and the third one will be significantly improved. This is used in Julian’s combos.

The hero is rather weak in the beginning. As a Jungler, Julian should focus on leveling up his abilities and avoid unnecessary ganking. In the mid and late game, his might spikes, and he becomes a valuable solo and team fighter.

MLBB Julian is a Fighter and Mage. His specialty is Chase/Magic Damage.

Cecilion

While playing on the Mid lane, Cecilion should first focus on ranged attacks and avoid close confrontations. Skills 1 and 2 of this MLBB hero have a remote active area, which requires precision at activating them. Still, when the ultimate is available, Cecilion becomes a bursting beast that delivers high damage on every opponent around. Sure, even this move should be combined with the other skills for the best effect.

Cecilion is a Poke/Burst Mage. The hero was picked by the MLBB World Champions 2024 during the M6 grand final.

How to obtain MLBB Hunter x Hunter skins

The game MLBB doesn’t sell items from its limited-time events directly. To buy the MLBB Hunter x Hunter skins, you need to pay for spins and hope for a lucky drop — just like in any gacha system. This principle is similar to other MLBB collaborations, such as one with The King of Fighters.

  • Permanent Hunter x Hunter skins have a very low drop rate. Reportedly, it’s just 0.8%.

  • It is possible to buy these skins with special Hunter Coins: 1,200 for each.

  • Hunter Coins have the highest drop rate during the event, so you will most likely obtain them from your spins: a few from each attempt.

  • Other items include graffiti, battle emotes, an avatar border, and more.

The spins cost Diamond, which are obtainable for real-world money. There are some methods of saving cash and Diamonds.

  • Subscribe to the weekly Diamond package to get this currency cheaper.
  • Use the 50% for the first spin of the day — and spin daily.
  • Recharge on special days to get Hunter Tokens and activate x10 spins with them.

Even with these tricks used, one Hunter x Hunter skin (1,200 spins) costs around 2,000 Diamonds (unless you are uniquely lucky with your spins). The details are in the video below.

How to unlock Hunter x Hunter basic heroes for free

If you don’t have Dyrroth, Harith, Julian, and Cecilion in your personal MLBB roster, you should still avoid paying Diamonds for them. Focus on the free methods of unlocking heroes in MLBB and keep your cash for other purchases.

  • One hero costs 32,000 Battle Points. It’s still quite a lot, but you can obtain this currency by playing the game and completing various missions. Just don’t spend this currency for random heroes.
  • Heroes are among ranked-up rewards. For example, Cecilion is in the pool for Grandmaster V.
  • There are hero training rewards for beginners. You can select a hero from a pool of your current mastery level, complete special missions (play the game mainly), and unlock the heroes for free.

Battle Points remain the primary method for unlocking MLBB heroes for free. Still, the characters are present as rewards in some events. Or you can spend your hero Fragments, but this resource is difficult to earn.
