It’s Mechmas time, and this festive season is all about extra might in Brawl Stars. Boost the battling aura of your Mandy with new Brawl Pass skins. Collect special power-ups to be much stronger in all sorts of matches.
The hunt for new skins never ends in Brawl Stars: and also, the hunt for various upgrades. The Mecha season boosts both these excitements for Brawl Stars players!
Mecha Mandy skins are impressively awesome. They are a nice goal to strive for in the Brawl Pass tiers — and to get many useful items in the process.
In addition to this familiar grind, Brawl Stars introduces big changes in the December update. They include Buffies, brand new power-up items, and adjustments to Brawl Pass.
Mecha Mandy: The power of futuristic tech anime in Brawl Stars
This new skin suits Mandy well. She is an Epic Marksman with a focus on long-range shots. As a giant robot, she does her job as effectively as ever, but those blasts look and sound just great with the vibes of action anime.
Mecha season replaces the Stranger Things event in Brawl Stars.
- The Mecha Mandy skin is the final reward in the Mechmas Brawl Pass season.
- Wasp Mecha Mandy and Shade Mecha Mandy are extra skins in the Brawl Pass Plus tiers. You need to pay a bit more for them.
Mecha Boxes and more skins in the Shop
If you really enjoy the Mecha theme in Brawl Stars, head to the shop and spend some Gems or cash.
- Mecha Boxes may drop seasonal skins and various items.
- Mecha skins are available for direct purchase, like Mecha Petal Piper or Mecha Jessie. During December, you can buy previous Mecha skins with a discount.
Buffies to power up your brawlers
Brawl Stars is a lot about unlocking new stuff in the game — in terms of strictly gameplay features, not even cosmetic skins of Brawl Pass and Pro Pass. You grind for getting new brawlers, unlock their levels, buy Star Powers and Gadgets, and hope for a Hypercharge drop.
This progression system is huge, and the addition of Buffies makes it even bigger.
- Buffies in Brawl Stars are special new power-ups to improve Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharge.
- Each brawler gets three Buffies.
- To unlock Buffies, you need to pull one from a Claw Machine in the game. The system gives a random item. One attempt costs 1,000 Coins and 2,000 Power Points.
Purchasing Buffies is an expensive activity. With the randomness of this drop, you should consider spending the same resources on leveling up your brawlers first.
All the details on how the Buffies work are described in the official Brawl Stars blogpost here. Be ready for a long read, though. Here is a short example: how Buffies work for Colt.
- Gadget 1 steals one ammo on hit.
- The bullet of Gadget 2 is wider and deals more damage.
- Star Power 1 gives an extra movement speed if Colt hits his victim.
- Star Power 2 receives additional damage for distant targets.
- If Colt has a Buffie for his Hypercharge, this mode lasts for two seconds longer, and the main attack becomes faster.
Keys and Vaults in Brawl Stars
The Mecha season is the last one before big changes come to Brawl Pass.
- 10 more tiers to unlock.
- Chroma skins are in the normal Brawl Pass track.
- Even the free track gets more valuable items.
- Brawl Pass Plus offers the largest number of special keys.
Brawl Pass keys are new items that let players choose their best rewards. It’s a great step from having almost all the drops be random.

Chaos Drops in Brawl Stars
Another interesting feature is a new type of Starr Drop: Chaos Drops. It has the usual system of updates, but the highest level is Ultra Legendary. This complements the top level of Kaze, which was added a while ago.
You can get Chaos Drops from Daily Wins and in special events.
Ultra Legendary Chaos Drops have high drop rates for Hypercharges and Mythic brawlers: 24.7%. The chance of getting a Legendary brawler is 9.9%.
The Mecha season in Brawl Stars is a great way to enter the festive season: with nice rewards to unlock. Sure, January will bring us even more excitement!
