Guild of Guardians announce esports NFTs

The addition of these heroes will be the next step in Guild of Guardians' partnership with the aforementioned esports organizations. These heroes will be obtainable in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

"Eight of the new collectibles will be available for purchase exclusively while another eight Guardians will be available by playing the game," according to the announcement.

Justin Hulog, the chief studio officer at Immutable Games Studio, noted that this will unite fans with their favorite esports teams. Immutable Games Studio is the publisher of the NFT game.

Team Liquid and Guild of Guardians

Team Liquid's vice president of product, Bo Kryne, shared similar thoughts. "There are two factors that convince us Guild of Guardians is the right opportunity for Team Liquid," Kryne said. His organization is keen on this Guild of Guardians project since it offers lasting value. The game champions product quality and gameplay, he added.

"Team Liquid is not interested in participating in speculative crypto projects that impersonate as video games, only to extract resources from their player base and benefit a small group of token holders," Kryne continued. He then reiterated the game's quality.

The NFT game will roll out these new esports guardians in three phases:

  • IP Integration: The characters will enter the game's universe after the alpha release. These heroes will have unique synergies and come with additional esports content, such as team pets, in the future.
  • Leaderboard Competitions: Players will get to compete for themselves or their guilds for leaderboard rewards.
  • New Game Modes: Those who have esports NFTs will have access to special in-game rewards and unique synergies alongside rewards outside of the game. Some of these out-of-game rewards will include VIP access to upcoming events and unique merch opportunities.
