Jump on that awesome hoverboard and let the hip-hop vibes penetrate your opponents. The new brawler battles with a style!

The selection of playable characters gets bigger in Brawl Stars as Ollie joins the party. The guy is a Tank / Taunter brawler of the Mythic rarity level. His moveset is pretty cool! It’s based on music soundwaves with hoverboard tricks, and Ollie is generally effective in Brawl Stars matches.

Everything you need to know about the new brawler Olie is here.

Music-driven moveset: How to play Ollie in Brawl Stars

As a Tank brawler, Ollie can rush into the action and deliver decent damage. His Basic Attack penetrates opponents, so you can use it effectively against groups. With Super, Ollie makes opponents dance and follow him, which works best with good team synergy.

Here is the full kit of Brawl Stars Ollie explained.

  • Basic Attack, Bring the Ruckus: The hoverboard of Ollie sends damaging soundwaves. The attack penetrates opponents, keeping its effectiveness on surrounding characters.
  • Super, Hypnotize: The attack combines a dash forward and a music blast that damages and hypnotizes opponents. While dashing, Ollie has to charge his music blast, which takes some time. When opponents are hypnotized, they become uncontrollable and move toward Ollie.
  • Star Power 1,  Kick, Push: Ollie gets 20% movement speed near walls.
  • Star Power 2, Renegade: This Star Power gives a temporary shield for Ollie after dashing with his Super.
  • Gadget 1, Regulate: Brawl Stars Ollie jumps and then lands to hypnotize opponents around that spot.
  • Gadget 2, All Eyez On Me: This Gadget adds the hypnotizing feature to the Basic Attack of Ollie.

Brawl Stars Ollie: The best build

Considering the kit of this brawler, it feels like a good idea to emphasize Ollie’s nature as a Tank and a Taunter.

  • Star Power 2, Renegade + Gadget 1, Regulate — this is the best build for Brawl Stars Ollie.

Renegade is important for Ollie to charge his Super music blast properly and be protected when opponents recover from hypnosis and can attack again.

Regulate is generally an effective feature for Ollie to reach a relatively big distance and initiate battles. This Gadget may be used as a defensive option as well, when Ollie needs to escape danger.

As for Gadgets, Health and Shield are a good choice to improve Ollie’s defense and let him be braver in fights. You may want to take Gadget Charge instead of Shied to have one more Regulate for offensive play.

When does Ollie join Brawl Stars?

The official Brawl Talk video about Toy Story x Brawl Stars collaboration named late December as the release window for Ollie. It sure is the addition of this new brawler to the Shop. We can expect Ollie to be added to Starr Road with the new season: on Jan. 2.

  • Late December — Ollie is available in the Brawl Stars for Gems / real-world currency.
  • Jan. 2 — Ollie joins Starr Road, so players can unlock the new brawler for free (Credits, in-game currency).

How to unlock Ollie for free

Similarly to all characters, such as Brawl Stars Juju, Ollie can be unlocked for free, but this process requires effort and dedication from your side.

  • Starr Road is the system of unlocking Brawl Stars characters for free. It offers a specific sequence of brawlers. Press the Starr Road icon in the left menu to see who your next character to unlock.
  • The game offers a choice of brawlers for your next unlock. Usually, these are three characters of the same rarity level.

  • New brawlers go closer to the end of Starr Road. However, you may choose to get Brawl Stars Ollie for free when the game asks what Mythic Brawler you want to unlock.

If you’ve been playing Brawl Stars for a long time, you sure have more chances to get Ollie quickly.

The character costs 1,900 Credits. This in-game currency is obtainable as a reward at:

  • Trophy Road, for different number of Brawl Stars trophies you earn in the game;
  • Character Progression, for some new levels you unlock for your brawlers;
  • Brawl Pass, for unlocking new seasonal tiers. The Premium Pass offers more Credits, but you can get other rewards with it, like unique skins — Amazing Maisie inspired by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a reward of the Starr Toon 2 Brawl Pass Season.

The next new brawler is Epic Controller Meeple. She is available via the Pizza Planet Event during January. For all Brawl Stars news and updates, stick around on esports.gg!
