These changes are meant to make the Brawl Stars Trophy System clearer and more rewarding — for both casual and highly competitive players.

The developers of Brawl Stars have announced a big Trophy System reset. It adjusts the character progression and adds seasonal rewards at high levels. The Brawl Stars new update also affects matchmaking, reducing the wait time for skilled players. What is especially great about this new Trophy System is that it makes the initial trophy hunting more interesting and rewarding for casual beginners.

All the details of the Brawl Stars new Trophy System are here!

Brawl Stars Trophy System Reset explained

In a nutshell, all brawlers can progress up to 50 tiers by earning up to 1,000 Trophies. It is called the Max Tier in Brawl Stars. After that, you will be rewarded with special Season Trophies.

The Brawl Stars new Trophy System before the Max Tier

This part is pretty neat for beginners and casual players. You will get more rewards for developing your brawlers up to the Max Tier. And you will lose less trophies for losing matches than you earn for winning.

  • Every tier gap in the new Brawl Stars progression ladder is 20 trophies.
  • New tiers bring a variety of rewards — for example, you will get Starr Drops or resources to power up your Brawlers (Coins and Power Points).
  • It is relatively simple to reach the Max Tier in Brawl Stars, as the game gives quite a lot of trophies for succeeding in the matches. You literally earn more trophies for winning than you lose them in bad matches. This means getting more rewards for the same amount of time you spend in the game.

Season Trophies after reaching the Max Tier

When you develop your brawlers up to the Max Tier, the Brawl Stars new Trophy System levels you up to the “next league”.

  • Characters with 1,000 Trophies earn a different type of progression item: Season Trophies.
  • After 1,100 Trophies on a brawler (1,000 Trophies + 100 Season Trophies), the progression becomes more difficult. The game gives you fewer Season Trophies for won matches than it takes away for lost ones.
  • With 1,000 Trophies on one brawler or 1,500 Trophies in total during a season, you unlock a new box with random drops — a Trophy Box.

This new box of rewards has five tiers: depending on the number of Trophies you’ve earned during a competitive season in Brawl Stars. Each type of Trophy Box gives skins, Gems, and various cosmetics.

  • There are five levels of Trophy Boxes: Small, Big, Mega, Omega, and Ultra.
  • A Small one contains one guaranteed Mythic skin.
  • Big and Mega Trophy Boxes give Legendary skins.
  • From the Omega and Ultra Trophy Boxes in Brawl Stars, you will get guaranteed Hypercharge skins.
  • Other skins are in the category of possible drops, with an Ultra Box giving the most of such items.

Better matchmaking in the Brawl Stars new update

There were no problems with the matchmaking queue even before this update — but only for the low-tier brawlers. After reaching a certain level with a character, it could be difficult to find opponents. The issue is solved in a pretty interesting way.

  • All players with a Max Tier brawler are put in one queue. The wait time is decreased.
  • At the same time, you risk facing someone with 2,700 Season Trophies, when you struggle to get 200.
  • There is a chance/risk to get into a pro player in your matchmaking or even to get a pro team as your opponents.

The win streak is connected to individual brawlers now, so you will not lose your great progress while exploring a different character. In general, the Brawl Stars Trophy System Reset adds extra challenges for high-level players.

New competitive seasons in Brawl Stars

The Trophy count will be reset after each new season in Brawl Stars — but only for high-level players. The competitive seasons are now tightly connected to the Brawl Pass seasons.

  • Players who haven’t reached 1,000 Trophies will feel no changes with the competitive season reset.
  • Brawlers with more than 1,000 Trophies will experience a reset at the start of each Brawl Stars season. They all will be with 1,000 Trophies again, and the battle for Season Trophies continues from the starting point.

The new competitive season starts on November 7, when the current Halloween-themed Brawl Pass season is over. Then, the seasons will continue for slightly more than a month.

In addition to the Seasonal Leaderboard, Brawl Stars has an All-Time one. When one of your brawlers enters the Seasonal Leaderboard, you get a special Prestige Icon for your profile.

What’s with the previously Rank 35 Brawl Stars brawlers?

The new system refreshes the previous max of 35 ranks in Brawl Stars. But if you have this achievement, the game will give you some commemorative rewards.

  • Rank 35 Brawl Stars brawlers bring players a unique Pin.
  • If you have 10 such characters, you get a unique in-game title.
  • This works even if you had Rank 35 brawlers in a previous season but not in the current one.

In general, the Brawl Stars Trophy System Rework feels like a great addition to the game. Casual players with lower numbers of Trophies on their brawlers have more progression rewards. High-skilled competitors get an extra goal to aim for and more crowded matchmaking to be motivated to play with their Max Tier brawlers.

When is the new Brawl Stars update?

The Brawl Stars new update is available at the end of October. Then, there will be a season reset on November 7 — after the Brawl Pass Scary Tales season.

How to earn Trophies in Brawl Stars?

Trophies are given to players for succeeding in various Brawl Stars game modes.

  • You get Trophies for winning matches. In such modes as Solo/Duo Showdown, you earn Trophies for finishing a match in the top 3.
  • You lose Trophies for losing team matches (Brawl Ball, Hot Zone, etc.) or for finishing lower than in the top 3 in individual and duo matches.
  • The number of earned/lost Trophies depends on the current level of your Brawler.
  • There are also accumulated trophies for your Brawl Stars profile.
