Learn more about the new and optimized MLBB Magic Wheel revamp, including what’s new and what changed in the new update.

The Magic Wheel system in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is getting a revamp, featuring massive changes that might be divisive. These tweaks aim to make the draw mechanics much more streamlined. However, it does remove one of the ways players can obtain a skin from this gacha system for free. This makes it much slower to gather points and make progress to unlock one of the featured skins without relying on luck.

Let’s take a look at the new Magic Wheel system in MLBB, what changed, and how it works.

Magic Wheel revamp in MLBB explained

The Magic Wheel revamp is now the live servers. The system has been completely overhauled with a new interface and prize distribution system. Here are some of the major changes you need to know:

Legend skins automatically unlock Trail Effects

Before the update, getting both a Legend skin and its respective Trail Effects was heavily luck-based. In the revamp, extra cosmetics like the Trail Effect, Custom Actions, and Profile Borders are now unlockable once you get their respective Legend skin. This saves the hassle of having to waste even more Diamonds just to fully customize your Legend skin.

Note: Players who acquired a Legend Skin’s Trail Effects will be compensated with 15x Magic Wheel Potion S for each Trail Effect unlocked.

Crystal of Aurora removal

One of the biggest changes in the Magic Wheel optimization update is the removal of Crystals of Aurora as currency for this draw event. That is one less free currency that you can use to obtain these highly coveted Legend skins in the MLBB Magic Wheel revamp. Your free option now is only the Magic Wheel Potion S, which is given rarely in special events or premium bundles.

Magic Cores conversion

In the previous version, you got a random amount of Magic Cores that could be exchanged for one Legend skin through the Magic Wheel draw. In the new update, these cores are completely replaced with a progress system that tracks how many draws you have made. Each draw grants one point. Reaching 200 points will grant you an Arcane Star Core. You can use this item to claim one of the Legend skins in the MLBB Magic Wheel event shop.

Note: Unused Magic Cores in your account will convert into Progress Points at a 1:1 Ratio

Weekly Draw Rewards

A new reward system called Weekly Draw Rewards is also in the new Magic Wheel. Draw attempts will be counted, and you can claim bonuses after reaching milestones. This can range from a New Arrival Token, Magic Wheel Potion S, and other items. As the name implies, the reward pool changes every week, with your progress also resetting every week.

Dynamic Portraits

A new customization for Legend skins is Dynamic Portraits. These change the portrait animations displayed during the loading screen. However, you need to unlock it for 800 Diamonds. The Legend Skins you unlock in the new Magic Wheel update will not include the Dynamic Portraits.

MLBB Magic Wheel Drop Rates

Here is a list of the iskins and items in the reward pool of MLBB Magic Wheel and their respective drop rates:

  • Arcane Star Core: 0.05%
  • Lucky Golden Egg Recall Effect: 0.15%
  • Irithel “Ice Spike”: 0.40%
  • Roger “Raging Hunter”: 0.40%
  • Selection Chest: 1.00%
  • Lucky Ticket ×3: 10.00%

  • Rare Skin Fragment ×10: 10.00%

Is the MLBB Magic Wheel revamp good?

It’s a mix of good and bad. For most players who are unlocking these skins for free, it’s a problem. Crystal of Aurora is one of the easiest semi-premium currencies to acquire in the game. With its removal, free-to-play players only have the Magic Potion S as their free source. There is barely any event that gives away this currency for free. You usually find them as rewards in premium events like skin draws or bundles.

For players who spend Diamonds in the Magic Wheel, this is a good change. They no longer have to rely on the randomness of how many Magic Cores they will get with each draw, as each will now guarantee a Progress Point. Reaching 200 points to get a Legendary Skin is much simpler, albeit still expensive.
