MLBB welcomes Thailand back with the MSL 2026 event featuring the most iconic names in the region’s esports scene.

MOONTON Games officially announced the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Super League (MSL), a new chapter for Thailand esports in 2026. The initiative signals a major market expansion anchored on deep localization, creator and community empowerment, and a long-term vision to establish Thailand as a globally competitive esports nation.

It's been a long time since Thailand appeared in the international spotlight. MLBB’s reinvestment in the region sets the stage for a revival. This is backed by structural support, local talent development, and a clear pathway to the world stage.

As MLBB enters 2026 with an expanded vision for the region, MSL Thailand 2026 stands at the center of that strategy. This esports event aims to bridge the country’s storied esports past with its ambitions for the future.

MLBB has formally introduced the MLBB Super League Thailand. The announcement reestablishes the country as an active participant in the global competitive circuit. Rather than building from the ground up, MSL Thailand reintegrates an already battle-tested esports nation into the international ecosystem. Additionally, this also recognizes the country’s deep-rooted competitive culture.

The league serves as a cornerstone for MLBB’s long-term esports roadmap in Thailand, offering a stable, structured environment where teams, players, and organizations can grow with global relevance in mind.

Thailand’s return to MLBB esports carries historical weight. The country was once a dominant force in the region, most notably when IDONOTSLEEP claimed victory at the inaugural MLBB Southeast Asia Cup in 2017. Since then, Thailand has continued to prove its esports pedigree by hosting international tournaments and featuring MLBB as a gold medal event at the SEA Games multiple times.

With the launch of MSL Thailand, MLBB aims to restore a clear competitive pathway, allowing Thai teams and players to once again measure themselves against the best from other regions and compete for international recognition.

A Long-term vision beyond a single season

According to Hao Zhen Siew, Head of MLBB Thailand Esports, the Super League is not a short-term project, but a foundational step toward sustainability.

“We are focused on welcoming Thailand back into the global MLBB esports ecosystem and building on the country's rich competitive heritage. Through this reintegration, we are committed to developing a sustainable ecosystem, nurturing teams, players, creators, communities, partners, and future legends for the long term.”

The goal extends beyond running a successful league. MLBB is focused on building an ecosystem that supports players, teams, creators, communities, and future talent, ensuring Thailand’s presence in MLBB esports is not only consistent but globally competitive.

As 2026 unfolds, MSL Thailand positions the country not merely as a returning participant but as a nation ready to reclaim its place among MLBB’s elite.
