UPDATE: In response to community outrage regarding a mid-season rank reset, Marvel Rivals has reverted their plans. There will be no reset, but a set of new ranked rewards will still be available at the second half of the season.

The first official season of Marvel Rivals is rolling along. We were given Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, along with new maps, modes, and other content. And now we know that Marvel Rivals Season 1's second half brings The Thing, Human Torch, and an interesting rank reset.
A dev diary was posted by the Marvel Rivals team that details everything we need to know. Let's break it down.
When is the second half of Marvel Rivals Season 1?
It is confirmed that Marvel Rivals Season 1 enters its second half on February 21, 2025. The start time is 8 a.m. UTC, which translates to 12 a.m. PST.
You'll be able to download the update, dive right in, and get a look at your ranked rewards as they'll be locked for the first half at that time.

The Thing, Human Torch, and another rank reset to arrive
The team has determined that a player's first half rank is indicative of their skill set throughout a season. Therefore, ranks are locked when the second half of Marvel Rivals Season 1 begins.
Don't worry, you get all of your rewards and get to try again for another set. This will happen for all futures season, with opening ranks now dropping by six divisions and second half rank resets dropping you down four.
A new costume reward and Crests of Honor arrive with the second half rank reset. As well, expect a change in the meta as The Thing and Human Torch of the Fantastic Four join the roster. That's all we know, however, with no abilities or other details delivered just yet.
