Marvel Rivals Season 1 is just a few days away, and the Fantastic Four are ready to debut. The Thing, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, and Mister Fantastic will offer various abilities that will add another level to an already complex game. Before Season 1 launches on Jan. 10, developer NetEase Games dropped a trailer for the Marvel Rivals version of Reed Richards, and this is what to expect.
When does Reed Richards drop into Marvel Rivals?
As mentioned above, Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic, arrives in Marvel Rivals Season 1. The update goes live on Friday, Jan. 10,at 1 a.m. PT, although it's unknown if there will be a lengthy downtime. Either way, you can expect to queue into matches as "the smartest man alive" once Season 1 drops.
What role will Mister Fantastic fulfill?
The official Reed Richards trailer confirmed that he and his stretchy limbs will be a Duelist, or DPS, joining others like Black Panther, Spider-Man, and The Punisher. We anticipate the entire lobby will auto-lock Mister Fantastic on day one if they miss out on the other three new characters, so you must be quick.

What sort of abilities does Reed Richards offer in the game?
Mister Fantastic functions similarly to Groot by extending his limbs to inflict ranged attacks on opposing players. The range he can strike looks generous based on the gameplay trailer. While striking opponents, a meter under Reed Richards' reticle increases by five with each successful blow landed. Once the meter reaches 100, Mister Fantastic hulks up and deals more damage for five seconds.
Another ability allows Mister Fantastic to snatch two enemies simultaneously and slam them together to stun and deliver a free hit. The gameplay trailer also showcased a reflecting move, where Reed Richards absorbs Iron Man's "Maximum Pulse" ultimate and returns it to sender for instant elimination.
We also spotted an ability where Reed Richards can pull himself toward an opponent or pull an opponent toward himself, resulting in damage.
What is Reed Richards' ultimate Attack in Marvel Rivals?
Although uncertain of the name, Reed Richards' ultimate in Marvel Rivals looks similar to the Winter Soldier's one. Upon executing his ultimate, Mister Fantastic utters "Fantastic," grows in size, jumps into the air, and slams down, causing an area of effect (AoE) attack.
He repeats this attack five times after the initial hit lands. However, whether the repeated strikes are contingent on damage or guaranteed is unclear. Richards appears invincible during his ultimate, but the gameplay trailer left this somewhat ambiguous.
Overall, Marvel Rivals labels Reed Richards a Duelist, but he has some serious Vanguard potential.
