Gambit is coming to Marvel Rivals Season 5! Check out all the details of Gambit’s complicated abilities and kit here!
Marvel Rivals Season 5 is adding a new Strategist: Gambit! Remy LeBeau, better known as Gambit, is here to shuffle the meta with his heals, anti-heals, and surprising damage output. We make Gambit's incredibly lengthy abilities and kit description below.
Gambit kit in Marvel Rivals
As said above, Gambit is a Strategist. His full skill description constitutes two pages when viewed in-game, giving Gambit the wordiest kit in Marvel Rivals so far. Despite this, he is only a 4-star difficulty hero.
Primary Fire - Kinetic Cards
- Launch three kinetic-charged cards in an arc ahead. Each card detonates on impact, creating a single-target explosion that damages enemies and heals allies.
As the description suggests, Gambit throws out cards in a fan. If you've played Overwatch, this is similar to Genji's alternate fire.
Gambit's primary can both heal and deal damage inside the explosion radius, similar to Loki.
Abilities
Gambit has a secondary resource, Sleight of Hand. He can hold up to four stacks at a time.
Ultimate - Ragin' Royal Flush
- Lock onto an ally within sight and unleash multiple Aces that heal and Purify. Both enter the Kinetic Transfer state, granting increased Movement Speed and Jump Boost, while enhancing attacks with additional single-target explosive damage and providing the ally with Ultimate Ability Charge Acceleration.
This is an amazing buff to have, and considering that both Gambit and one other ally gets to have this buff, this is an great support Ultimate.
With this buff, Gambit himself can output decent damage, especially when he uses his Breaking Spades deck since both buffs stack.
The jump boost does not work like Rocket Raccoon's. Instead of granting a second jump, it just increases the jump height.
Shift - Cajun Charge
- Side-step forward with bo staff in hand, dashing a short distance
This is a simple dash. During it, you can press RMB to activate Big Easy Impact to extend the dash and trigger explosions along the path which heal allies and damage enemies. This ability is Gambit's only mobility.
This ability has two charges.
RMB - Bayou Bash
- Channel kinetic energy into the bo staff, then slam it into the ground after a sweeping strike, creating a shockwave that damages nearby enemies and heals allies.
- Follow up Cajun Charge with Big Easy Impact to sprint forward while striking with the bo staff, triggering three kinetic explosions along the path.
This is a simple AoE ground bash which both heals and damages. Like Cajun Charge, Bayou Bash also has two charges. Using Big Easy Impact also consumes a charge.
E - Healing Hearts
- Conjure a Heart card by consuming one stack of Sleight of Hand to Heal and switch to the Healing Hearts deck.
This grants a self heal upon casting. The Healing Hearts deck will be active for a few seconds.
Using Flush or Raise ends the Healing Hearts effect early and consumes another stack.
Flush (E) - Bridge Boost
Fire cards that bounce between allies, healing them and granting a Healing Boost.
Raise (F) - Purifying Pick-Up
Launch exploding cards in an arc forward, healing nearby allies and Purifying them. This also
F - Breaking Spades
- Conjure a Spade card by consuming one stack of Sleight of Hand to gain a Damage Boost and switch to the Breaking Spades Deck.
This ability grants Gambit a considerable Damage Boost and, once again, the ability to consume a stack to either Raise or Flush.
The damage boost effect and Breaking Spades ends after a few seconds, or after Flushing or Raising.
Flush (E) - Explosive Trick
Fire explosive cards forward that deal damage and inflicts healing reduction to enemies hit.
Raise (F) - Bidding Barrage
Scatter cards in an arc around Gambit. The explosions damage enemies and has a small knockback.
When does Gambit release in Marvel Rivals?
