A clean sweep for Fancy concludes in London.
Jacob "Fancy" Worthington completed his perfect Madden 25 season with a Madden Bowl victory in London. The event, which took place after a delay caused by the Playstation Network, awarded the 25-year old a huge $250,000 in prize money and secured his place in Madden history.
Fancy started the season with no finals appearances, but has dominated the circuit this season winning all three major titles. It was a close run match against JonBeast, but it always seemed inevitable that Fancy would see out his record-breaking season.
esports.gg spoke to Fancy after his Madden Bowl win in London.
Fancy on Madden Bowl win: "It hasn't hit me yet"
With so much at stake today, not just financially but with a chance to make history, how does Fancy feel after bringing it home?
"It hasn't hit me yet, you know, because I've been working for it. As soon as I won my second this year, I was like, I can actually make history, winning the third in one year. I just never thought it would actually happen. And now I'm just sitting here as a three-time champion one season, it's just absolutely insane. I just never thought I would be capable of doing that."
The match was a back and forth contest. Fancy made a strong start in the opening quarter, but as expected, JonBeast rallied to take a dangerous lead in the third. However, Fancy always remained confident and self assured that he would bring it home.
"I was really, really confident the whole game, especially the way that JonBeast was playing defense. I knew I was super confident in offense. Like I knew the defense he was running, he just wouldn't be able to really stop me. And yeah, I mean, that's basically what gave me that confidence."

Madden Bowl in London is the first time Fancy has ever left the US
Fancy revealed that he has never left the United States before, so this trip to London was ground breaking for him in more ways than one.
"I think London's great. I've never left the country before this. So this is my first time outside the country. And being in London, yesterday, I walked around, saw everything you could possibly see in London, I think it's a great place. I've really enjoyed it!"
Visiting not just the United Kingdom for the first time, but any foreign country at all, Fancy arrived with a big goal besides winning the Madden Bowl. Top of his agenda was visiting Piri Piri chicken restaurant, Nandos.
"[Nandos] is what I wanted to try. That was the one thing I wanted to try here, I knew about it before I came. It was really good!"
Fancy did reveal that he only ventured as far as "Medium" spice, but perhaps now he has conquered Madden, Hot and Extra Hot at Nandos will be on his to-do list.

Could Fancy swap to FC?
Fancy will now head from the Madden Bowl to Paris, where he will attend his first ever Paris St Germain Football game. The 25-year-old is a huge fan of both varieties of football. In the build up to todays event, he took on Manchester City's FC 25 star Tekkz at Madden.
"[Playing Tekkz] was good! He actually scored on me, which was funny. It was really funny because I was telling him, you literally have no chance of scoring. We were kind of debating whether it was harder for him to score on me in Madden or for me to score on him in FC. And he ended up getting one 70-yard touchdown on me. When every other play of the game, he literally couldn't get a single yard!"
Playing FC was how Fancy ended up competing in Madden. He was lured in by Madden introducing a Weekend League, a popular aspect of Ultimate Team in FC.
"I used to play FC every single year. Before I played Madden, I had literally started out playing FC more than I played Madden. So I basically started playing Madden because of Weekend League. FC had Weekend League and then they added it to Madden. So I was like, I'm going to start playing Madden now because they added Weekend League and I'm going to start trying to compete. That's basically what inspired me to compete."
So, could we see Fancy transfer back to FC after his clean sweep? Not likely!
"Those guys are too good. I think they're too good. I feel like I can stick to my own game. Because I have a chance here, I like putting all my eggs in one basket. And I have a really good opportunity here to really do something crazy like I just did. But I just want to keep going!"
Fancy will look to repeat his success when the next season of Madden Esports kicks off later this year. Stay tuned to esports.gg for more esports news.
