The addition of LoL items in Arcane is very interesting since many of them represent much more than players know of.

If you play League of Legends, you might notice some interesting similarities with the items we use to build the champions in every game. But what exactly are League of Legends items doing in the Arcane series? There are some spoilers about the Arcane Season 2 episodes so watch them before reading this article.

Turbo Chemtank

In the first episode of the Arcane season two, we see these monsters invading the council memoir to kill everyone present. These Chem Guards, created with Chemtech, are commanded to destroy everything and everyone they can in Pilltover, as ordered by Silco's remaining council. It's impossible to say that the LoL item is not the same as the Chem guard in Arcane.

They're also just like the item Turbo Chemtank, an item that gives 1100 health and 15% movement speed. This item it's exclusive for Arena which means that League of Legends players cannot use it outside of that game mode. It was removed in patch 14.1 (the first of 2024). Normally, it's an item done by tanks like Urgot, Volibear, and Cho'Gath.

Chempunk Chainsword

Some fans have pointed out how Rennie's chainsaw is very similar to the Chempunk Chainsword item. Not only because they're both chainsaws, but also for the colors and the overall details. Renni's weapon is filled by chemtech and so is she since she was chemically altered by the quimic to become stronger. Other fans think is just a regular chainsaw.

The fun fact is that the LoL item also has a green background just like Renni chemtech. In League, this item gives 45 attack damage, 15 ability haste, and 450 health. This is the anti-heal bruiser item normally made by top champions such as Riven, Fiora, and Irelia.

"Renni made a name for herself as the boss of the Sludgerunners, an illicit enterprise that specialized in the production of chemtech", as we can read from her biography. She was part of Silco's council and, to avenge her son, invaded the council memoir in the Arcane season two to try to kill Jayce. She ends up dying to Ambessa and Jayce survives.

Kaenic Rookern

For me, this was very shocking. Who would have imagined that Kaenic Rookern was going to appear? The colors, the format, and even the symbols are the same. Arcane season two has brought a lot of surprises.

According to League of Legends lore, there are runes that Noxians carve in their weapons to make them more powerful. In the Arcane series, we see them attached to Ambessa's bodyguard weapon. Rictus is only able to remove the magic he's stuck with when these runes activate.

In League of Legends, this item gives 80 magic resistance, 400 health, and 100% base health regeneration. It is used when tanks want to make them more strong against magic damage champions. Galio, K'Sante, and Malphite.

Overall, Riot Games seems to be including these items as easter eggs not only to enhance the relationship between the game and the series but also to include important lore aspects that can change the route of the Arcane series. They might be trying to include LoL items in Arcane to make fans theorize!

That's all for now. Stick around for more news and updates on esports.gg.
