Clash will also change after the negative feedback from the community. Check out the updated Clash schedule for 2025.
At the beginning of the month, it was announced that Clash was happening fewer times during the year. The tournament was in a bad phase of bugs and various glitches that made fans furious. Now, we're getting the previous schedule back.
According to Riot Games' developer's video (not the most recent one, the update release two weeks ago), there was a reason the problems were taking so long to be solved. The team that usually worked with Clash was involved in future games.
As it was announced on today's development update, the Clash will no longer happen every two months but return to the monthly schedule. Check out the schedule at the end of the article.
New changes in Clash
This new update came with other small changes happening with Clash. Aside from level 30 and completing placements in at least one Summoner's Rift ranked queue this year or the year before, you will now need to verify your League account by SMS to create a team.
This is a new Clash-specific feature, and only mobile/prepaid numbers will be accepted. Internet numbers [VOIP] like Google Voice will not work. ARAM and ARURF still have the same account level 30 and SMS verification requirements, but you don’t have to play any Ranked to participate.
You can remove your number from your account at any time. Just keep in mind that a six-month waiting period begins the moment you unlink your account. If you ever want to re-link the same phone number, you'll have to first unlink and then wait six months before linking again.
All you need to do is check out the code that will be sent to your phone and verify the account. Multiple incorrect tries will temporarily lock you out of the verification step. You will also need to add your country code (in case you don't know, here is a list).
Champ select
Just like LoL Worlds and other regional tournaments, you'll have two ban phases and two pick phases. The team captain makes all the ban decisions for the team. Unlike the regular games, not declaring or hovering over a champion will lock in a random champion for you. This is happening to avoid dodging as much as possible.

Sudden Death
After an hour (40 minutes for ARURF), towers will become more fragile and easy to push. Five minutes later, structures will start to damage themselves at a fixed rate in order (towers in order, then inhibitors, then nexus turrets, then the nexus). After another five minutes, one team will have won the game. The goal is to have a fixed maximum length.
Pauses and Remakes disable
Pauses and remakes are disabled for Clash to avoid trolling and abuse of these features.
Tickets and Clash week schedule
You'll need either a Basic or Premium Ticket to enter Clash: the only difference is that premium tickets guarantee you better rewards. You can get tickets from missions, a teammate, or the store. Every two tournaments, completing the missions assures you one ticket. Tickets are a method of entry unique to Clash. If you need to, you can purchase Basic Tickets with Blue Essence or RP in the store.
You can assemble your team on Monday, but the games will happen on the weekend: either Saturday or Sunday (or both). If you're games don't go well on Saturday, you can play again on Sunday with your team or a new one. You can check out more details about Clash format here.
