It’s a rematch of the LoL EWC 2025 quarterfinal. MKOI managed to take one game back then. The stakes now are even higher — and T1 also have no space for missteps.

T1 are the reigning World Champions, but instead of dominating in the Swiss stage of LoL Worlds 2025, they threw themselves into the elimination zone. The fate is still merciful for the team and their many fans. For the second time in a row, T1 were facing Western opponents, and it’s generally considered a passable matchup.

MKOI versus T1: Match details and results

Round 5 concludes this stage of LoL Worlds 2025. After it, the remaining eight teams will battle in the Knockout brackets. The winners of the match T1 vs KOI head to the quarterfinals. The losers move into the spectator mode for the rest of this Championship.

MKOI had a pretty great competitive season. They won LEC 2025 Spring and reached the top 8 at the MSI 2025. Movistar KOI got invited to the League of Legends Esports World Cup 2025, and again, they found themselves among the top 8 teams. T1 eliminated them from the EWC.

After finishing 2nd at LEC 2025 Summer, MKOI hit the Worlds 2025 stage. With the losses to KT Rolster and G2, KOI defeated Fnatic and Secret Whales. It genuinely feels that T1 were too much for this team.

However, T1 are kind of unpredictable. They struggled in the regional split, and they experienced two losses at Worlds 2025: to CFO and Gen.G. Their wins are strictly over Western teams: FlyQuest and 100 Thieves. The unpredictability of T1 couln’t be that rough to lose to KOI.

Match recap: MKOI vs T1 at LoL Worlds 2025

The atmosphere of this match had the same vibes as the attempt of 100 Thieves to take down T1. MKOI also had periods of gold advantage, and they were surprisingly good at team fights. However, T1 prevailed at positioning around the key objectives and accumulating power for brilliant final pushes.

KOI managed to survive a bit longer in Game 2 thanks to their late-game fights. The way T1 still won it over MKOI is a great statement for the entire LoL Worlds 2025! While most players were around Elder Dragon, Doran crushed the Nexus turrets. T1 won everything at that moment: the objective and the match.

The next opponent for T1 is Anyone’s Legend. It was decided in the LoL Worlds 2025 Knockout Stage draw ceremony.

Game 1

The game started with aggressive exchanges, and somehow MKOI could earn an early kill and gold advantage. Then, after just two big fights, T1 claimed their rightful place in the stats and brought this chapter to a dominating end.

Elyoya and Alvaro invaded T1’s jungle and earned the First Blood on Oner. T1 responded with a kill on Jojopyun on Mid, twice. KOI secured three Voidgrubs after a clash in the jungle. T1 got two Dragons uncontested.

Myrwn caught Gumayusi on teleport, killed him, and then MKOI took down Keria. After T1 grabbed Rift Herald, KOI killed Keria and Gumayusi again.

When Atakhan spawned, T1 overplayed the opponents in the Mid fight and earned a great advantage in the blink of an eye. That escalated when KOI forced an awkward fight on Mid, which helped T1 take an early Baron, Dragon Soul — and eventually smash KOI’s Nexus.

This game between MKOI and T1 at LoL Worlds 2025 proved to be spectacular but not really surprising.

Game 2

For a pretty long time, T1 had a small advantage but couldn’t deliver the final blow. MKOI were exceptionally good at finding occasional kills and even winning team fights. Eventually, T1’s experience on the top stage unleashed its unbreakable power, and KOI could do nothing about it.

The game started with the First Blood for MKOI again. AD Carries of both teams rotated to the top lane, and Supa won a 1v1 versus Gumayusi.

T1 knew the patterns of their opponents, so they caught Elyoya and Alvaro in the jungle as a response. Myrwn survived a dive from T1 and killed Doran instead. T1 fixed their errors with kills on Supa and Alvaro on Top.

The exchanges led to the late game, where T1 needed one more big objective to seal the match. MKOI denied the Dragon Soul to them twice. They contested Baron successfully.

Still, T1 had better positioning around the objectives and exceptional personal skills. They took Baron and, thanks to the mid-fight repositions from Faker, secured the Soul.

When MKOI tried to battle for Elder Dragon, Doran sneaked into the opponents’ base and tore it apart. T1 took that objective and won the match against MKOI at LoL Worlds 2025.

The Knockout Stage of LoL Worlds 2025 starts on Oct. 28. The grand final is on Nov. 9.

After that, the teams will be preparing for the next regional season. It’s LEC Versus for Movistar KOI — to try to qualify for the First Stand 2026. The regional format in LCK is yet to be announced, but T1 will certainly be playing there!
