Here is everything you need to know about the League of Legends: Wild Rift patch note 6.1 preview, including gameplay and mage updates.

The upcoming big patch note 6.1 of League of Legends: Wild Rift is almost coming, and many interesting things will shake your gameplay. New events, champions, skins, and updates are coming soon to the mobile game. But what do we know from the patch note 6.1 preview video? Let's talk about it.

New champions

Ryze, Nocturne, and Zilean will finally join the Rift. Faker himself announced Ryze in a very cool appearance in the Wild Rift patch note video. Nocturne will come just like in League of Legends, but Zilean will have small differences in his kit. In Wild Rift, Zilean received more damage to his kit to boost his combat skills.

Garen and Ambessa's rework

This patch, there will be two main reworks: Garen and Ambessa. The warrior of Demacia has been in the game since the beginning, and it's time to receive some love and change some aspects of his kit and overall gameplay.

His second ability, Courage, will grant him growing stats of damage reduction and look a little bit different when you cast it. Additionally, his third ability, Judgment, will deal even more damage and reduce his enemies’ armor. More details will be revealed by the development team closer to his rework going live.

Ambessa, however, it's still a very recent champion. Nevertheless, the development team decided to adjust some aspects of her kit. During the 6.1 patch cycles, some of the strength she’s been showing as a jungler to the Baron lane will be changed.

That means that the dev team will tweak some of her stats, cut how much damage she can do to monsters, and increase the life steal and displacement immunity in some of her abilities. And just like Garen, more details will be revealed soon.

Gameplay updates in Wild Rift

Many updates are coming to Wild Rift in terms of gameplay. For example, during your game, you'll see Enchanted Gifts appearing on the ground. Picking them up grants an active ability, which can be used to trigger effects. These portals were made to bring some fun surprises in your laning phase. There will be plenty of gifts for both teams.

Not only that, but making the buffs more intuitive was one of the goals for this patch note. The Red and Blue buffs will now evolve immediately when the evolution timer is reached, rather than only evolving after being killed and respawning.

The portals announced in the patch note 6.0 will also be updated. Wild Rift will be adjusting their positions to make them safer while also ensuring that your allied jungle portals better assist your team without being exploitable by foes.

Last but not least, the Ixtali Sand Scorpion will also receive a small update. They will be adjusting its mechanics so that it is a more contested objective, rather than a one-sided advantage, as well as slightly reducing its overall impact on tower taking.

Mages updates

Last patch, the main focus was the supports. Now, in the patch note 6.1 coming to Wild Rift, mages will also be receiving some updates. Especially with the addition of Ryze and Zilean to the champion pool, it was necessary to add new items.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Boots of Mana will have a new passive. When your Auto-attacks and active skills deal damage to minions, they will deal an additional amount of damage to the minions, based on your level. This will give a little extra help to Mages, so that they can clear lanes faster and look for opportunities to roam around the map.

New items

  • Hextech GLP8000 will launch frost bombs that explode when hitting the first enemy and cause magic damage to all enemies hit. Additionally, the foe that is hit by this will be slowed by 65%, and the slow will decay in 2 seconds. This can be used to help you push out your lanes even faster or slow down that pesky other champ you’re trying to hunt down and kill.
  • Bandle Fantasy will turn your mages into damage-dealing powerhouses. When you use abilities that cause damage to enemies, a warning area will appear under your foe’s feet, causing a small-scale explosion of damage after a short delay. If your ability hits multiple champions at the same time, there will be multiple area explosions that will be generated at the feet of each of your foes.
  • And lastly, Malignance. Whenever you use your ultimate and it does damage to an enemy, it will ignite the ground under your foe's feet for 3 seconds, causing 60 (+5% Ability Power) magic damage per second and 10 magic resistance reduction to any enemies within the burning range.
