Here’s what players can expect when LoL patch notes 25.09 goes live on April 30.

The League of Legends (LoL) patch notes 25.09 have been released. This patch officially marks the beginning of Season 2, bringing with it many new skins and significant game adjustments. As expected, there are continued nerfs to Gwen, which have been ongoing for several patches.

Meanwhile, Annie is receiving some buffs, likely to bring her back into competitive viability. Additionally, Yorick will face more nerfs, following multiple adjustments in previous updates. Overall, this patch introduces a wide range of changes that aim to rebalance the game.

LoL patch notes 25.09

Regarding the highlights, Gwen, Kalista, Naafiri, and Yorick were nerfed. Meanwhile, Annie, Ashe, K'Sante, Leona, Morgana, Orianna, and Shen received buffs. Additionally, some items underwent a few adjustments.

Annie, Leona, and Morgana buffs

Annie seems to be the surprise champion this season. She's been a champion with almost no changes for a while. For many, it is like she is not even in the mid lane picks option. Now, Riot Games is trying to bring her back to the game. They buffed her abilities, reduced their cooldowns, and gave more Passive Magic Penetration to Tibbers.

Leona, on the other side, was seen by Riot Games as a less strong tank support pick compared to her counterparts. So, they will be making small adjustments to her mana and passive on minions or champions. Morgana was also slightly buffed in the support role to make her appear more in your ranked games.

Gwen nerfs (again) and Kalista

As for Gwen, who has been persistently nerfed to take her overpowered dominance from the jungle, she will be nerfed again in the LoL patch notes 25.09. She is still one of the strongest champions in the game, which needs to be changed by reducing her armor growth and passive AP.

In the bot lane, Kalista suffered a little bit due to her strong presence in competitive LoL, which makes her a beast in the early game.

New skins in LoL patch notes 25.09

This season welcomes the Spirit Blossom festival. It features special skins inspired by the Ionian festival, one of the most popular skin lines in the game. The Spirit Blossom Ashe skin currently lacks a voiceover. Riot Games has stated that it will be added at a later date. Furthermore, you'll be welcomed in-game with a new map aesthetic that reflects the Spirit Blossom essence.

In addition, this season introduces changes aimed at addressing issues like intentional feeding, trolling, and griefing in LoL. This is part of a broader team effort to improve the overall in-game experience for all players. As for the new game mode, Brawl is not releasing this patch. Brawl will be available with the new update on May 14, so you'll need to wait a little longer.
