Fearless Draft, more best-of-threes, and no more Season Finals for LEC 2025!
The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) announced exciting changes for the 2025 season! This includes Fearless Draft and the removal of Championship Points and Season Finals. Read everything new about LEC in 2025 here.
LEC 2025
The LEC will keep the Winter, Spring, and Summer splits for 2025. However, each split will have a unique format.
They also announced that LEC will be brought on the road. Some Spring matches will be played "in local countries at a venue of the participating teams’ choice." Moreover, the Summer Split will also have an LEC roadshow near the end.
Fans can expect 1-2 local LEC events next season.
Most games will also be played on the live patch, following the LCS' move this year. This will not apply when new patches go live too close to a game week. Playoffs will also still be played on one patch for competitive integrity.
LEC Winter 2025
The LEC Winter Split now has Fearless Draft for all matches. The rest of the format remains untouched: a three-week, single round-robin group with best-of-ones. Then, the top eight teams advance to a double-elimination Playoff bracket with best-of-threes and best-of-fives (with Fearless!). The winner of this split qualifies for the new international event.
This first split of the 2025 season begins January 18.

LEC Spring 2025
Spring will have more best-of-threes as it begins with a single round-robin of best-of-threes. This means that each team will play a minimum of nine Bo3s.
The top six teams qualify for the double-elimination Playoff bracket. This time, all playoff games will be best-of-five, but no Fearless Draft. The top two teams qualify for MSI 2025.
LEC Summer 2025
Like Spring, there will also be more best-of-threes in Summer but with a different format. The region will be divided into two groups of five.
Teams will play best-of-threes against the teams in their group. The top two teams from each group qualify straight to Playoffs. The 3rd and 4th placed teams of each group will cross-play in a best-of-three decider to take up the remaining two Playoff spots.
The double-elimination, best-of-five Playoffs will determine which teams will represent the LEC at next year's Worlds.
