Here’s how this LEC 2025 and Marriott Bonvoy partnership lets League of Legends players unlock exclusive rewards both in-game and in real life.
Riot Games just announced that it's working with Marriott Bonvoy as the official sponsor of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Spring 2025 season. This partnership builds on the success of last year's LEC Finals in Munich.

According to Riot Games, this renewed partnership with Marriott Bonvoy features some exclusive rewards and unique fan experiences. For example, those who register for a Marriott Bonvoy account can get a free Hextech Chest and Key in League of Legends. Interested esports fans have until Oct. 12 to sign up.

Marriott Bonvoy members also get perks like access to over 10,000 hotels worldwide, free Wi-Fi, better room rates, and the ability to earn points toward future stays. There are exclusive hotel and experience packages available for the LEC Summer Finals 2025 event in Madrid as well.
For those unfamiliar with Marriott Bonvoy, it's basically a hotel loyalty program. As its name indicates, this program is created by the Marriott International company. And, according to one of the company's latest annual reports, Marriott International operates, franchises, and licenses lodging properties under more than 30 brand names across various price points.

League of Legends, LEC 2025, and esports tourism
This isn't the first time an esports event has teamed up with a hotel brand. Get On My Level (GOML), for example, is a fighting game event in Canada that takes over the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel every year. Meanwhile, in the states, Chicago's Godfrey Hotel Hollywood was transformed for the Red Bull Legends Inn Apex Legends tournament. There, the majority of duos played from their hotel rooms, and fans tracked eliminations by watching the window lights. Blue meant a team was still in the game. Red meant they were eliminated.
Over in Asia, dedicated esports hotels have been on the rise. Like with what we're seeing in Europe and North America, these locations double as both attractions and accommodations. According to Niko Partners, a company that specializes in gaming industry insights within Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, countries with a strong internet café culture make esports hotels a natural upgrade. These hotels also indicate a growing intersection between tourism and esports.

With the aforementioned hotel and experience packages for the LEC Summer Finals 2025 event, the Marriott Bonvoy and LEC 2025 partnership appears to contribute to this larger trend.
