Riot Games has revealed what players can expect in League of Legends Season 3, which will arrive soon in patch 25.17. Read on for the League of Legends Season 3 release date and more.

League of Legends Season 3 release date

Season 3 of League of Legends will release on Aug. 27 with patch 25.17. This update will include the return of the Doom Bots game mode, Vaulted skins galore, and more.

League of Legends Season 3 patch notes

In terms of what to expect beyond League of Legends patch 25.17, there will be new storylines in Season 3 about champions from Noxus and the Spirit Blossom universe. These will include LeBlanc, Yunara, Atakhan, and Xin Zhao. Xin Zhao will also get visual updates to his base model and all of his skins. He'll get a new epic skin, too.

Speaking of skins, other champions receiving updates will include Sylas and Mel with Prestige skins in the Mythic Shop plus Jarvan IV and Zoe with Prestige skins via the Battle Passes.

Machine Herald Viktor skin

Meanwhile, the 2024 Worlds winner skins will arrive in September and Exalted Viego will be delayed until 2026. As for Machine Herald Viktor, this skin will arrive in patch 25.19, however, players with Mastery 5 or above on him as of Aug. 4 will be able to unlock it for free.

In terms of what else to expect, Riot Games will introduce stricter actions against smurfs, reduce Battle Pass levels from 50 to 48, celebrate 15 years of Worlds in China this fall, reveal the 2025 Worlds anthem on Oct. 10, bring back the base Summoner's Rift map, and introduce the WASD control scheme.
