G2 Esports announced that they are dissolving G2 Hel, their female League of Legends team. Here’s what we know.
Even after a successful 2025 and multiple wins throughout the years, G2 Esports have elected to dismantle their female League of Legends team, G2 Hel.
G2 Hel disbanded
The esports organization announced the team's disbandment through a video highlighting their journey throughout the years.
It's been a Hel of a ride.
Today we are saying goodbye to the G2 Hel project. From unhinged memes to more than 3 years of dominance, thank you for everything ❤️"
No clear reason for the disbandment was officially given. However, unofficial sources dictate a lack of funding and sponsorship. As a relevant piece of information, Riot Games opened betting sponsors for both League of Legends and VALORANT teams just earlier this year.
Just this year, the team picked up wins at the Equal eSports Cup 2025 and Nova Series: Prélude. They were also runners-up in the inaugural League of Legends Game Changers 2025 Rising (LGC) tournament.
G2 Hel's past and future
Established in late 2022, G2 Hel quickly became a prominent team in women's and marginalized genders leagues. They were top contenders in most tournaments and even competed in the NLC in their early days.

G2 Hel's roster was home to several notable names in the scene. This included the bot-lane duo of Maya "Caltys" Henckel and Ève "Colomblbl" Monvoisin, who remained with G2 until the disbandment.
Jungler Marta Mesas "Shiina" Garrido gave her thanks to the organization through a social media post. "Nothing but grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this through the last 2 years and a half," she wrote. "I will miss every individual i have shared teams with this year, they were amazing and some of the best people i have met out there :(, i guess even in the good bye the leash picture hunts me."
Caltys shared a similar post and seemed excited to share something with her fans. Perhaps a new team following her role swap to midlane?
Mid-laner Rym "rym" Salloum is also grateful, writing "most amazing year of my life, most amazing teammates, and wholesome org 💕 thank you so much for everything, i will always look back at 2025 with much joy 🐥 onto new adventures!"
The whole roster, including coach Adam "Emtest" Emtestam, is now looking for a new organization to compete under, albeit individually.
