10 additional bans – No two games will ever be the same again.

Fearless Draft is returning to League of Legends and this time it will be present in all regions, Riot has announced. The community is excited for this bold move that will shake things up at the highest levels of League of Legends esports. Here’s all you need to know about this change including a brief overview of what exactly is Fearless Draft in League of Legends.

What is Fearless Draft in League of Legends?

Fearless Draft in League of Legends is a unique game mode that forces players to dig deep into their Champion Pool. With the large pool of Champions to choose from the five bans often feel inadequate to curate the flow of the veto phase. As such, the Fearless draft with the additional bans ensures players and teams can remove a series of unwanted Champions from play. This also means that players will need to have a more diverse range of Champions that they can play.

Once a Champion is selected, it becomes unavailable for both teams for the remainder of the series - this means that with each game, 10 additional “Fearless bans” are added.

The typical 10 bans from the pick/ban phase will remain intact, making every choice critical and ensuring no repeat picks, even in Game 5.

The Fearless Draft will be available across all regions which means that players from all over the world will get to experience this unique game mode. There are two different types of Fearless Game modes and you can read more about them here. There are 168 Champions in League of Legends and the Fearless Draft throws the field wide open when it comes to top tier of LoL esports. It counters one of the biggest drawbacks when it comes to MOBAs where there are long periods of stagnant meta which only change once there is a big new patch update.

The Fearless Draft solves this issue allowing players to bring about numerous permutations and combinations when it comes to their Champion choices. Tencent’s Arena of Valor has a similar draft system in place since 2019.
