Wild Rift’s patch note 6.1 brings exciting updates, including the all-new Dual Nova system. Check out all the details.
"Dual Nova" is the name of the upcoming patch note theme of League of Legends: Wild Rift. Not only will the interface of the game change to galaxy-themed icons, but new quests to complete to get rewards. Throughout the patch, Dual Nova-themed events will have you reaching higher and let your true star shine. Let's see more about it.
What is the "Dual Nova" in Wild Rift?
In the last months, Wild Rift has been adapting the gameplay to the theme of the patch, just like it happened with the Shadow Isles patch back in 5.1. Now, the team will keep diversifying the players' experience.
In the Wild Rift patch note 6.1, you'll travel through galaxies and explore the cosmos at your own pace. The new progression path will reward the more creative and fun-oriented players. If you're focused on ranked progression or just want to have fun with goofy game modes, you'll be rewarded.
Dual Nova Stars in Wild Rift
The moment you log in, you’ll find yourself in a vast, starry galaxy filled with exciting new adventures. Within this cosmic expanse, two stars will catch your eye: the purple Challenger’s Star and the blue Adventure’s Star.
At the start of the patch, Adventure’s Star will glow dimly compared to Challenger’s Star, as the two are deeply connected. However, as you progress, Adventure’s Star will gradually shine brighter.
By the time week five arrives, it will reach its full brilliance, marking its complete unlock. The six big icons around the stars correspond to six new major features coming in patch 6.1:
- Reward Constellation
- Legendary Constellation
- Guardian Constellation
- Medal Constellation
- Glory Constellation
- Rune Constellation
Challenger's Star
Challenger’s Star has arrived, radiating in all its celestial brilliance! In Patch 6.1, this serves as the gateway to Challenge Mode, where you can seamlessly access Ranked, Legendary Ranked, and Normal PvP battles— all with a single tap.
Previously, two separate modes had their own seasons and objectives. But in Patch 6.1, Wild Rift is bringing them together. Now, your Champion Score will track your dedication and progress across both modes, making it easier than ever to earn seasonal skins and rewards.
For the early climbers or players who master enough champs and want to try the Legendary Ranked, there are extra surprises: Legendary Queue is also getting a little galactic makeover with new tier names, art, and events.
Wild Rift is also introducing ranking star cards so that the mode continues to be challenging for those who want a more competitive experience, but just a little less stressful. To make Legendary Rank feel more rewarding, a few adjustments will be made.
Firstly, the Legendary Ranked tiers will be adjusted so that it’s easier to understand and see your achievements as you climb against the best of the best. They will also shift around how much Champion Score you can earn so that you’ll earn a bit more when playing Legendary Ranked.

Season Ranked Reward System
Your feedback was finally heard. After various complaints of a non-intuitive season-ranked reward system, a few changes are coming. Riot Games will be removing the old system and instead introducing a new reward track within the Challenger’s Star for Ranked and Legendary Ranked.
There will be two new reward tracks, one that is weekly and one that is seasonal. Each will be available to click on before queuing up, and will be clearer about what rewards you can earn.
The debut of Challenger’s Star also kicks off a brand-new Ranked Season. Players who reach Master during this event will unlock dazzling ranked wings, an exclusive title, and a distinctive title background for their namecard.
Adventure's Star
As we mentioned before, the Adventure's Star will come later in the patch. When this star is available, the remaining three constellations will be unlocked. Each season will span approximately 90 days, giving you the chance to complete star-studded tasks and objectives in Adventure Modes.
As you play and participate, you’ll earn Season Points. Alongside these, you can also collect badges — just like those in Ranked mode, with familiar tiers such as Iron, Bronze, Silver, and so on. But remember, they are independent from each mode: if you reached Diamond in ARURF, you won't have a Diamond Badge in Arena. Instead, you need to play and rank up to earn that reward.
However, any mode contributes equally to the rise of your Adventure's Star. Instead of single rewards for each mode, you'll be able to track your progress in a single track.
Ranked badges
Wild Rift is making some exciting adjustments to ensure earning badges feels more rewarding — and gives you the perfect way to show off your achievements.
When you enter the lobby, your badge level will flash above your icon, instantly showcasing your Adventure’s Star prowess to your friends before they even send an invite. Your badge will also be prominently displayed above your Champion’s health bar in-game, on your profile, and in your friends’ list.
And for those elite players who collect Challenger badges across multiple game modes, a prestigious crown and a special title await — both tailored to the number of Challenger badges you’ve earned.
You’ll also be able to earn an array of other goodies just from queuing up and playing, like special titles and even a new pet! Since these changes will be replacing the older season system for ARAM and Arena, if you participated in any of those, you’ll be receiving the following rewards:
- 10 Point Bonus Card
- Emote of the badge of the highest rank in ARAM
- Emote of the badge of the highest rank in Arena
New galactic design
Some game modes, like ARAM, will also have a little sparkle in them with the addition of galactic elements. Not only that, but new Starry Augments will also come to the Arena mode. However, there will be only one for you per game, so choose your star wisely.
