Cloud9 put in another strong performance to move to 4-1 in the LCS.
Cloud9 got back to winning ways this week in the LCS as they took down long-time rivals in TSM. Known to some as the LCS 'El Classico', it was an interesting game that ended in a very dominant way for the 2022 summer champions - even ending in a pentakill for superstar ADC Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol.
Whenever these two teams square off on the rift, form goes out the window. With the squads fairly close in all-time head-to-head records, a win here was vital for not only the standings but also the bragging rights over their bitter rivals.
The game started off in the perfect way for TSM. Cloud9's aggressive lurk into the top side was squandered when a lack of vision onto Lee "Bugi" Seong-yeop saw Ibrahim "Fudge" ( listen) Allami caught out to give TSM the first blood.
Although TSM was able to apply some pressure, all it took was one massive team fight for C9 to take over. It feels like Cloud9 are small corrections away from becoming a really scary team at all stages of the game. They (C9) have attempted to make aggressive plays in the early game but came up just short both times.
Once C9 can correct those small errors, the sky is the limit for the reigning LCS champions. For TSM, as disappointing as the game was for them, they have bigger fish to fry. With the projected ceiling for this roster, their focus is ensuring victories over teams looking to break into the top six for playoffs.
Where TSM has excelled is in its simplicity. Playing for scaling, and playing around summoner timers, these basic skills are important to have. Yes, they eventually got ran over against a much better team, but this is a building block for TSM.
