The League of Legends battle pass experience and rewards is being improved according to Riot.

The first League of Legends dev update for LoL Season 1 revealed Riot Games' plans to improve the battle pass missions and skins.

Better LoL battle pass skins

In the dev update video, we were informed that skins from the LoL battle pass will be improved with more distinct visual effects and model changes. To make the new battle pass system friendlier to newer players, they have decided to award the champion when the skin is unlocked.

The skins from the battle pass will also no longer strictly stick to the season's thematic to "allow for more variety."

Paul "Pabro" Bellezza says that they "heard a bit of feedback that [battle pass] skins don't feel like they're good enough in various respects [and] we agree with a lot of that feedback."

These changes will reflect in the skins available through the Season 2 battle pass. The dev team also clarified that battle pass skins do not count towards a champion's "skin cooldown."

Easier LoL battle pass missions and progression

In an effort to make the battle pass experience smoother for LoL players, particularly difficult or unpopular missions will either be cut or changed. One example of a difficult (or completely impossible for ARAM-only players) mission was "Destroy 5 Turret Plates in a single game"

Also, playing Teamfight Tactics will now give more XP to the LoL battle pass.

The League battle pass

The battle pass changed when League introduced its new seasonal pace. Season One is Noxus-focused, so all five of the battle pass skins were Noxus-themed. This came in the form of the "Masque of the Black Rose" line; five skins for Vladimir, Samira, Renata Glasc, Ezreal, and Elise, with the latter being free.

This was tied to the Bite Marks cinematic that welcomed the LoL playerbase to Noxus.
