Here are our picks for the best League of Legends skins that were released in 2025, including Towel Ahri, furry Volibear, and Pengu Garen.
2025 saw big changes to League of Legends, primarily to how skins are distributed. Nevertheless, this did not stop Riot Games from putting out great skins this year. Here's a list of what we think are the best League of Legends skins released in 2025.
Best LoL skins released in 2025
121 skins were released this year. This includes Uzi's Hall of Legends ones with Kai'Sa and Vayne.
Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser (Exalted)
This is an Exalted skin, meaning you need to win the 0.5% chance in the Sanctum or hit the 80 draw pity. At worst, this skin costs 32,000 RP. Past the price, though, the skin has redeemed itself from being one of his less desirable looks to a top pick, even in pro play.
Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser had a rough start, but after listening to community feedback, Riot elected to update it. Now, the Exalted skin has three forms, two different maces, making him one intimidating force to see in your games.
This skin is also prominently seen in pro play. In the Worlds 2025 Grand Finals, KT Rolster top laner Lee "PerfecT" Seung-min used this skin, and he was just one of many.
Victorious Draven
Although you can't acquire this skin now, Victorious Draven is an amazing option. It does not stand out for its appearance, splash art, or any in-game features. Rather, it's on this list because of one simple fact: players need to be Honor level 3 at a minimum to be eligible for this skin.
For most of the LoL playerbase, this is nothing special. Honor level 3 is the baseline for the Honor system and is the starting point for new players. Draven players have a stereotype of being toxic. Players who follow this stereotype will most likely have an Honor level under 3.
"What's the point," you may ask. Well, League of Legends product management director Drew Levin has an answer. "Gotta give [Draven players] a reason to be good."
Spirit Blossom Springs Ahri
Yes, yes. Ahri already has a lot of skins. This is also her second Spirit Blossom skin, so what's the big deal? The word "Springs" is doing some heavy lifting for this skin, but the real reason is for its Mythic chroma, After Hours Spirit Blossom Springs Ahri.
When the concept of this skin got leaked, it sent the online League community into chaos. After all, "Ahri is only wearing a towel" is something unheard of for Riot, and many may have swept it under the rug as a fake leak. Once the official reveal dropped and the skin was confirmed, it was a completely different story.
It still wasn't globally liked - many were still up in arms about the whole idea of having Mythic chromas that cost more than many of the game's skins, or Ahri getting two Spirit Blossom skins. That being said, this does service a... considerable fanbase of the game.
Spirit Blossom Springs Volibear
In the same vein as Ahri above, Volibear also services fans who are into... certain tastes.
In-game, the skin feels good too! Volibear's relatively recent rework, plus great design choices on his skins, make the experience good no matter which among his wide selection of skins you choose.
Glizzy Naafiri
Two words: Hot dog. Riot nailed it with this year's April Fools skins (shoutout Urgot the Clogfather), but Glizzy Naafiri is the best one out of the bunch. It showed that League of Legends is still here for the silliness.
Arcane Councilor Mel
Finally, Mel's release skin Arcane Councilor Mel makes the list. Arcane Season 2 released late last year, and Mel was added as a champion in January 2025. The designers now faced a challenge where they had to make an Arcane skin for her, a character who was introduced in Arcane.
Classic Mel design choices aside, Arcane Councilor Mel could have served as the Classic version. Her in-game model looks sleek, and her abilities feel nice to cast. Her fiery oranges and reds are replaced by Hextech-y blues, aiming to give more of a Piltovan feel.
Pengu Garen
Pengu Garen is the greatest skin to ever grace League of Legends, and it's a shame that this skin was only available during a limited-time event in April Fools. Since this skin changed the champion's hitbox, it poses a unique issue since skins are meant to be purely cosmetic, and they cannot give a competitive edge.
Nevertheless, Pengu Garen is deeply missed, and many are hoping for a comeback in 2026.
