The four-year-old skin line Battle Academia is coming back to League of Legends with new integrants and problems to solve.

In the Battle Academia or God Weapon universe, some champions we know are students and the next generation of superheroes. This skin line, with four years of existence, is getting new integrants: Xayah and Rakan, Qiyana, and Kayn. But not everything is quite right for the fans and players of League of Legends. Let's dive into it.

No Legendary skin for Rakan

The first problem came with the announcement that Xayah's skin would be a Legendary skin while Rakan would only have an Epic one. As a couple that was always designed to be the it couple of the game, Riot has been diminishing Rakan for a long time, according to fans. Aside from the problem with Rakan that has less skins than Xayah - only one while Xayah will have three with the Battle Academia one - some other problems have been pissing fans.

One of them is the lack of new animations to the Legendary skin, which makes Xayah pretty much the same as the default, but with new colors and design. Her death animation, idle, attack, W spell, and crit animation are exactly the same. The players are accusing Riot Games of recycling old designs and animations to brand-new skin lines.

No English voice actor

A Legendary skin without voice lines in English? Yes, that's possible. Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike against the use of AI to re-create actors' voices as well as provide protection for the workers, Legendary Battle Academia Xayah won't have an English voice actor/actress. This strike has been happening for a long time in Hollywood and video games. Riot Games has not signed any agreement to correspond to workers' demands, which can lead to situations like this one in the future.

As for the remaining languages, everything is assured.

Donations to esports teams

According to Riot Games, when you pick up Battle Academia Xayah, a portion of the proceeds will be shared with LoL Esports teams. This initiative underscores Riot's commitment to bolstering the competitive gaming scene and making the environment more sustainable for esports to shine. We don't know much about how this sharing will work, but we will keep you posted.

Other Battle Academia skins

If you're not a fan of the bot lane duo, don't worry; two other champions are coming to the Battle Academia universe. Kayn joins the school with an epic skin, while Qiyana will have her Prestige one.

All of the skins will be available for purchase in-game on March 19.
