Big news for ARAM enjoyers! Rerolls will be replaced by champion cards, and a map pool with Butcher’s Bridge and Koeshin’s Crossing is coming.
Riot Games revealed a lot of new information for League of Legends Season 2 Act 2, including big changes coming to the beloved game mode ARAM.
Goodbye ARAM rerolls, hello champion cards
Rerolls are being completely removed from the game mode and will be replaced by champion cards.

Before, champion select in ARAM gave you one champion and the option to use your rerolls, up to a maximum of two. In a given game, you can roll up to three champions. However, you did not always have the two rerolls — you had to wait for them to "recharge." This recharge rate is based on how many champions you owned, maxing out at a rate of one earned recharge per game.
With the new system, you'll be given two champion cards at the start of champ select. You can choose one to "hold," while the other gets sent to the bench. You can still pick up champions from the bench as usual. Sometimes, you'll be shown three champion cards instead of two. According to League of Legends modes lead Eduardo "Riot Cadmus" Cortejoso, the chance to get three cards is random, but there is a "pity system" in place. The number of champions you own affects the chance you get a third card, but the exact tuning is not yet finalized.

ARAM map rotation: Koeshin's Crossing and the return of Butcher's Bridge
ARAM will also be getting a new map rotation! The beloved Butcher's Bridge map makes a return for the first time since 2019. It features some nice additions like the Power Flower from Arena and a Cannon so you can launch yourself into battle.

A new map tied in with the ongoing Spirit Blossom theme will also join the map pool. Koeshin's Crossing has the same, one-lane foundation from Howling Abyss that we all know and love, but it also introduces some new mechanics to keep things fresh.
According to Riot Cadmus, the team has learned from the Bridge of Progress ARAM map. Namely, they learned that players were eager to explore more areas in Runeterra, but the Bridge of Progress "deviated too much from what was core ARAM." Riot Cadmus said that with the non-Howling Abyss maps, they took a more measured approach and focused on retaining the "spirit of ARAM."
Howling Abyss will remain in the map pool, so each time you queue up on an ARAM game, you have a random chance to get one of the three ARAM maps.
